Northern Ireland goes into 4 week Circuit Breaker lockdown

Why are you falling for the b***ks.
First lockdown was to protect the NHS which is actually there to protect us (but that's a whole other discussion caused by years of cuts and greedy NHS management) and to "flatten the curve". It went on for 3 months.

If it's brought in to this country it's not going to be for 2 weeks or 3 weeks or 4 weeks, it'll be the new year when whoever can afford to come out of house arrest will do so. Millions won't see family over the winter (I will because I'm not putting my family through that again and they can fine me all they want they won't get a penny out of me 😉).

Those who are pro lockdown, fine, lock yourselves down but stop playing the selfish card against those who don't want to when those who do want to lockdown are just as selfish.

So the rules don’t apply to you then? Nice attitude.

It has got beyond crazy now.

Provide data please. This is the problem, people are just happy to lap up soundbites from politicians without evidence. This data is publicly available. I have been providing plenty and will provide more later. The hype is unreal.

Its literally all over every news outlet, but yes its just "hype" so no point going much further.

Liverpool Mayor, around 60 from the 2 main hospitals not including additional temporary capacity.

You can degrade the numbers all you like, the numbers are rising and that's after 2 months of loosened restrictions. If we stayed the same or opened up completely, it would be worse.
Chill your beans mate all I asked was which hospital and for a source.😮

What happened in October 2016? Also notice the article only states covid-19 positive patients but doesn't state if they are in the ICU for what reason though as I imagine that is data protected?

Not when it comes to what me and my family deem best for my mental health, my kid's mental health and my family's mental health. I give zero **** what anybody else thinks of our decision. Same as I couldn't care less if people follow the rules which have been dictated by a proven liar and charlatan to the letter. Each to their own. Send the unicorn covid marshalls after me. 👀

What people who are anti-lockdown can't answer (unless they can now) is what should NI do? They haven't been lockdown and only have used social distancing so far and that has resulted in them running out of hospital beds for Covid patients.

1. So do they carry on, run out of hospital beds and people start dying in the corridors?
2. Lock down?
3. Or....... (this is where you put your solution)

You'd have to be mega unlucky, 80% of people who catch the virus will only suffer mild to moderate symptoms requiring no hospital treatment (Chris Whitty March 2020). Ventilation was found a few months ago now to actually make things in patients worse hence the quiet dropping of Dyson built ventilators and those built by the F1 teams but obviously you already knew that right? Did you know that currently 8 out of 9 people who are unfortunate enough to end up in hospital actually get discharged? That is every age group aswell may I add, yes even those in the category that the virus (like others) affects the most, those over the age of 80.

I got one of this random letters off of the NHS yesterday for their 'survey' you know the one where they go out looking for the world ending virus? My swab comes next week. Will complete the test according to the instructions. I've also booked an anti body test in Durham at a cost to myself and I'm also looking for an anti body test that can be filled out at home. Looking forward to comparing all 3 results.

Please don't drive your car tomorrow, just incase you knock a kid over also please take into consideration that when climbing into bed tonight you may not wake up in the morning, don't put all your eggs into the covid basket if you are that concerned about death, you need to think of all the variables or none at all.
Oh i think i have a fairly good idea about ventilators.
Ill add a bit on for you.
Did you know that people who die from the virus usually do so within 2-3days. Some have been known to actually paas away within 30 minutes of hospital admissuon.
Those that remain on a ventilator for more than a week are more often than not are cleared 9f the virus, however the ventilator has been known to cause internal organ damage.
If these peple survive these are the ones who then succumb to 'long covid' suffering long term effects.
Others unfortunately lose the battle due to sepsis or multiple organ failure.
Some admissions are fortunate in that all they need is 30-45 minutes of air and they are on their way.
JCH currently has 3 wards for covid patients. Thats approx 200 beds out of reach for other patients. The hospital is coping at the moment but are expecting a much higher intake, that will be when the problems re occur. But hey, you know that already?
See, we can all write long posts but I'll finish with what i said before, lets hope uou dont have to realise who the selfish o es are.

We will see when I take my two antibody tests won't we? I'm fairly confident they will come back positive as two colleagues at work both tested positive for antibodies (back of house, kitchen staff) and as we seem to be sliding into personal territory, my mother also had a positive antibody test the other week. All 3 of which I've had close contact with since one the day I was born and the two work colleagues for I'd say around 3 years. 😉

We spend billions

Shame that doesn't mean you're immune. You may be. You may be for a few months. You may not be.

Extra week off for schools at half term, hospitality 4 week shutdown, no alcohol sales after 10pm in shops.
Sorry to be pedantic Mr Cat but no sales after 8:00 not sure what the rational for that is? Also Sinn Fein wanted the schools closed for 4 weeks but DUP just the two, which in reality is just on extra week for the half term holidays. However, tbf something needed doing as the number of new cases per day over here is very high now

Your tune has certainly changed since March

You had a rant and tell me to chill? 🤔

No idea what happened in 2016, and you can work out the rest from the article you linked.

Still waiting lads

Still waiting lads
Shield the elderly and vunerable with extra financial assistance.
Close care homes to anybody but essential deliveries. Pay care staff to live in.
Make hospital wards with covid patients more secure and pay hospital staff on those wards to 'live in' too.

Is Ireland in lockdown?

How do you classify vulnerable? How does financial assistance stop them getting Covid?
With your other points you assume that staff won't mind spending months away from their families so they can shield with their patients.

Not sure what the rules are in Ireland but I do know that they tightened their rules in August. We waited until September.

Still waiting lads

I’ve been waiting for many days. Get the same stock answer, which has been pulled to bits a million times buy a million smarter people than me. ‘Shield the vulnerable’. Genius.
Then no response when the obvious problems with that are highlighted.
I’ve given up now.
I want them to give us a viable solution but they are too busy shouting about how bad lockdowns are.
Yeah, we know lockdowns are bad but...
