No to Sam Greenwood

At the beginning when he started with a number of goals and assists it was hard to see why Leeds had let him come to us on loan, but it's become clearer as the season has progressed. Good luck to him, but I see him finding his level in the lower half of the Championship.

His wages too high for us anyway.. I think if he was on less whack we might have looked to invest and develop him into more consistent player.

Agree with that assessment. Strange attitude and disappeared too long in games for my liking.
Watmore struggled to complete a game with his high energy performances and was a real impact whenever he came on as a sub. I always felt Greenwood could have had the same impact on games but he never had the mentality / mindset to go with it.

I like Greenwood and can see him coming back to haunt us one day. Just hopefully not in a Sunderland shirt.

I think wages were always going to be the stumbling block. They will have been at the top end and he hasn't done enough across the course of the season to justify that. Maybe if he was cheaper he is more of an option. Good luck to him though, always put a shift in and I felt he was a little unlucky at times, particularly after xmas.

Lot of nonsense talked about his wages. That's his Leeds contract, not the one he'll get at his next club.

What were his wages anyway?

He's done ok, no more, for a team wanting to improve he's not the answer on current evidence, though he might go on to score 20 next year and the board will be full of people saying we should have signed him.

I can see Preston, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff etc sniffing around.

The correct decision and one I reckon was made a few weeks ago.

There were a couple of times when it looked like he spat his dummy out when played in a different position which I'm sure wouldn't have gone down well.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at Sunderland next season.
I doubt they’d pay the wages unless heavily subsidised by Leeds.

There is always the chance though we are calling Leeds bluff and he rocks up in a month for 1/2 that fee.

As the Yorkshire Terrier said, Sunderland would be a good fit.

I think that was no brainer to be honest. apart from the odd moment, he was generally very underwhelming.
Not sure who was worse, Greenwood or Silvera....... heads or tails... both not Championship standard players...

Hopefully he finds some consistency in his game as he has the ability. Good luck to the lad.

I think there is a player in there somewhere, but then again I though the same with Marcus Browne a few years ago.

Not sure we have the time or space for another project player for this cost.

i wish him well though.

For the vast majority of players I think there is an awful lot of luck involved in how far they progress in the game.

Look at Morsy and Luongu, not fancied at all by us but key players in a side smashing 96 points or whatever it was.

Being at a club at the right time in the right system for your game takes some luck.

Not pursuing O'Brien is more of a concern. Thought he did really well considering he was coming back from a pretty serious injury.

I quite like O'Brien, and would have him here if the money was right.
However, he's not a guarenteed starter, and probably isn't in our 1st choice 11.

If the club feel they can get someone who would be for equivalent money, I understand the decision.
Nothing against Howson at at, but we know he's not going to be around too much longer. I would think that CM spot is one of our main priorities this Summer.

I think that's it, he'd want to be first choice (and paid at that rate), same with Greenwood probably (and maybe even Thomas). Decent squad players but better value out there.
