No Masks in Lidl

just been in Lidl, Newport Road. At least 15 people without masks, probably more. Families and groups of blokes. One group were asked by a lady about their masks. They replied they had no masks and would get some next time.
I was pretty stunned by the number of people all ages and male and female without masks. I asked the security guard on the door who was wearing his mask.
He replied, "They don't have to wear them, it is up to them."
This in a town currently under government scrutiny and ten mins drive from Yellow Rose, Central Park and Olivello restaurant.

This local lockdown has been coming for months, shocked at the blatant disregard for the rules in the area.

People dont realise the economic impact of another lockdown for the area, its the last thing the area needs and its been completely caused by stupidity

I was shocked. By far the most without masks I have seen in a long time. How is the message not getting through? Quite conceivably they could lose their jobs as a result if we lockdown. Or make someone else extremely ill.

I was in Boots yesterday and must have been 8-10 without masks. Just walking around with baskets and simply little or no fecks given. I include 1 or 2 in that who had mask 'on' but down over chin.

I went to tesco in the week and for some reason people have to pull masks down to pack and pay. . Absolute divs😕

Live in Redcar. Masks everywhere. Went to Lidl in Berwick Hills the other day. At least 15-20 people without. Quite surprised

I'm intrigued with this 'over the chin look'. Very fetching, and clearly the way to go, judging by all the fat blokes who walk round wearing them in this way.

And another point. these large supermarkets and businesses should have a member of the armed forces to point out to these morons the error of their ways. It should be mandatory that anyone entering the premises without a face mask will be shot on sight!

I was in the queue at asda at teesside park and there was a family of 3 behind me with no masks on what was more frustrating was the father stood right behind me not even half a metre distance between ke and him. As i stood in the queue another family member a teenager came over and she didnt have a mask on either. social distancing has completely gone out of the window in shops

I was working in Boro a few months back and a 'street' warden - with another stood next to her - came into the building to ask that 'your queue' were made to socially distance better. The demographic were mainly druggies (they were known drug users!) queuing in the 'street'
Why were the 'street' wardens putting it onto businesses to police behaving the' street'?
I know businesses need to push it too, but if that is how those with authority (there was a big Gazette article stating that they had been given more powers) will not challenge behaviour directly then what chance do businesses have?
So maybe the council could give businesses a bit more confidence by helping them enforce the rules, not criticising them for not doing so
Its a difficult one, but these people don't care, and it's hard to confront a group of them on your own

Maybe the council could send a couple of street wardens there to help the staff enforce the rules. Not permanently, but just so shoppers know they may be stopped by someone they might listen to, rather than poor shop workers

Just to clarify, you think soldiers should shoot people they see not wearing a mask?
