No Half Season Tickets

Completey
From everything I've heard about from it (directly from a group involved on it), it's lots of people who want to pretend they have some input on what the club do, but have little to none and are then basically forced to agree with the club and the one group who challenged something the club did (ticket prices) got thrown under the bus by the rest. The only thing they've managed to change the clubs mind on is safe standing, which will be getting put in eventually.

We got 2 1/2 season books when my son was 7 as Xmas present, his sister didn't continue with hers but he did that was in 2003. He had one until 2nd year uni and gave it up, missed it too much and renewed the next year he has had one ever since he is now 28. That 1/2 season card has generated 20 years of support. Very poor decision by the club.
Why would it be a problem for 1/2 season card holders to have the early bird discount?.
Same here etmfc. First year of the Riverside we bought our nephew a 1/2 season ticket for Xmas. Scroll forward and he, his partner and one of their children have season tickets.
I love this club, but sometimes the decisions are wholly inexplicable: especially as it isn’t Fulham or Chelsea. Shame on you SG.

Making up stuff again Free Pint? You know like last week where you knew better than me what I did and didn't say.

A few observations; firstly I don’t agree with the clubs decision not to keep half season tickets going and it’s been poorly communicated. I also don’t agree with the witch hunt of rob that seems to be going on, what’s the guy supposed to do?

MFC isn’t a community run/owned club - it’s a privately owned and therefore there is no requirement to run it as a democracy. The fans forum may have limited influence, but atleast the meme era are giving up their time to try and make a difference.

Like much of the ticketing decisions, I suspect the club has made the choice on the back of a business model that most clubs run now to maximise profits, and that is to find the sweet spot before diminishing returns, rather than filling the stadium.

The silence from Rob and/or anyone concerned with the Supporter's Forum about this is deafening - that body just gets more and more a club patsy by the day
Am a bit hamstrung by lack of minutes for meeting.
But am against this ending of half season ticket cards.
I don't think we sold them every season and they are not always popular but they were last season.

The actual decision is really a moot point. They can decide to offer what they want.

The fundamental point is that they don't offer notice for actual fans to make informed decisions because there is no notice period. There are areas in which the club is seriously unprofessional. On here we aren't just a bunch of grunt fans; a lot of us work in roles where we would probably get sacked for this type of behaviour if we instigated it ourselves and we understand how things work.

It just isn't good enough.

It reflects really badly on the club and if I was part of the supporters forum I'd be embarrassed and angry as you will take a load of flak for actions like this.

I think most of us know that Gibson has the best interests of the club at the very heart of everything that he does but he makes a lot of mistakes (which is fine). He needs to have better people working for him to micro manage things like this.

This is literally something they heralded as a great success last year.

In any other business you don't say 'hey that thing that worked before, we aren't doing that again.'

I dont think either of you are helping the discourse with this, you have a 16 year old arguing with a 70 year old; you're never going to agree.

I think having MM chairing, who is a very clever guy, plus the various reps of the different groups of fans being involved is a positive thing. However that only works if those groups are actually both listened to and responded to when they have concerns.

As I've said before the club just need to get ahead of themselves and announce things in advance.

I made up nothing last week, I quoted you word for word to what you said.

And what's made up there? You literally all threw RF under the bus with the ticket prices, I remember the arguments on here after the post was put out..

Wife bought me and the kids HSTs for Christmas just before the good home run under Wilder. Youngest had asked for a Chelsea kit. They're now Boro fans and we've kept the seats ever since. Club will hopefully make thousands out of those HSTs.

If it was discussed at this meeting, but not communicated before it has been outed even if due to the person doing minutes not having time to do so, then that's a ridiculous state of affairs and makes a sheer mockery of any guise of fan consultation.

Go back to your Red Faction source - I was in meetings with them and the club. No one threw them under any bus. Someone is making this up.

Mate you threw them under the bus on here.. not a single member of MSF publicly supported RF (I'm not linked to RF these days so dont know if they're even part of that group anymore).
You even went as far as to say you 'couldn't comment' until the rest of the msf had put some bull together despite knowing that the ticket price hike was going to happen, you literally pretended to have no knowledge, which led to RF being dragged on here. Even had you and 12th publicly justifying the price increase after. Absolute joke.

Maybe we need to argue away from the site and this thread - but Red Faction are part of Middlesbrough Supporters Forum. They attend the meetings. They are part of the forum and forum statements.

I’m saying he has no regard for the average fan. Prove me wrong.
'Prove me wrong'.
No thanks.
You might be right or you might be wrong.

If he keeps the club alive and tries to make us competitive I don't really care what he thinks about me. Or about Dave, a 38 yr old shopworker from Berwick Hills. (Or whoever else you class as an average fan).
I believe that his priority is the club. I don't think he is trying to screw the fans over by making money for himself out of them.

Did you have any input on the membership scheme @fmttmadmin ?
Sorry Humpty - just noticed your reply. I was working on fanzine deadline all day yesterday and Discover Middlesbrough today.
Personally, no involvement. But as you know it has been a long process and supporters have been involved in the course of it. The Forum have worked on the proposals.
Am hoping it happens.
