When I lived in Edinburgh , there was a lot of controversy surrounding the tram and what a gigantic waste of money it would be . The snp ploughed on regardless .

People will continue to vote for them irrespective though as they want independence.

Not just a good politician, some on here are drooling over her leadership qualities. I want my leaders to be inspiring. Inspiring she never was. Perhaps going to be my biggest disappointment at the next GE. SKS might go on to be a great leader but I’m not feeling it right now. RS will need to be replaced if the tories are serious about posing any form of challenge. He’s nowhere near up to the job.

What is most hilarious about this though is the snp all this time have made out they’re above corruption and even alluded to the idea it would be a thing of the past in an independent Scotland . There are people on here parading what a great politician she is , despite under her:

-Snp Membership has tanked and she’s probably alienated a lot of socially conservative independent voters with her gender bill .
-strikes have arguably been just as bad in Scotland as england
- education and transport are arguably worse than ever in Scotland under the snp
- despite the momentum and brexit , the polls supporting independence have hardly shifted at all under her tenure .

She gets free pass though because she identifies as a progressive

Not really related to the current crisis, but there's another example of this great leadership that people are so happy to praise in this thread.

You're able to make an informed decision and vote at 16 in Scotland, but the SNP have at the same time decided that you're not fully accountable for your actions until you're 25.

In the context of UK politics of course people see the SNP as left wing.

They do and they are wrong, the SNP are historically a right wing party.

But wanting independence is a right wing philosophy in my opinion.
