Next Lions game

Georgia have had a handful of positives too, they were due to be the replacement for the Sharks.

Not looking great.

Although caps were awarded for the Japan game, it won't be decided till after the tour whether they count as official caps. This is decided by the 1888 club. The lions last 'home' match was in 2005 against argentina and they were classed as official caps so I see no reason that the Japan ones won't.

It's becoming almost impossible for the series to go ahead.
I don't think it's that bad. The Springboks cases will surely have finished by the first test? OK so We'll miss one warm up game but the match tonight goes ahead. We just need to accelerate our plans for what we want to find out about the players and our systems.

Oh dear. Does this mean I'm going to miss the start of the football?

OK maybe the tour does look to be on a knife edge.

Not looking good. My plans messed up for tonight. Watch first half live and then record second half for after the England game.

Team selection looks like it's backs with covid / isolating. Josh Adams playing three games in a row. Only one back on the bench. Forwards look strong (first 8 and bench).

Hybrid players!

we might get extreme Warrenball with Hamish Watson at centre

Just watched that game. The referee Peyper was atrocious. SA coming in from the side time after time, Missed countless obstructions. Disallowed a Zammit try.

First two tests will be reffed by South Africans. There will be an independent ref for the third test but may be too late by then.

Loads of SA fans saying he was biased in the Lions favour. Don’t understand the rules enough to say either way.

I didn't see an awful lot wrong. Thought the Zammit incident was a try, i thought double movements didn't count if it was only the arms moving, torso and knees stayed where they were. Also he missed Curry grabbing De Klerk after his first scrum back and just chucking him on the floor. Other than that seems ok to me

transgressions in the breakdowns that would have been stamped on by many refs. I did t like his officiating. Still a good battle and that second half performance was promising.

SA defence was ridiculously good though, even with 13 men.
Hopefully they try width next time as they played into 13 men's hands. Should have gone for a scrum against 13 as well at the end of the first half.

Itoje was neck rolled late on prior to SA turnover. A penalty and yellow might have changed the result.

Farrell is not a fly half at this level and a needless kick was the difference in the end. Poor kicking throughout gave SA the impetus.

Hopefully we try and some play width against a side that can smother forward play all day long.
