Newcastle Utd

Top half is a possibility.

Howe will be sacked before the end of the season as this will not be enough to meet the owners ambitions.

However, I do think they're building the right way; you can't get a load of money and start buying superstars. Apart from the Robinho error, Man City built a platform, signing the likes of Gareth Barry, Bellamy, Given, Lescott: good PL players, but not world beaters. Only once that's established can you take it further.
Not that long ago, memories of Sven and the 8-1😁

Eddie Howe is a small club manager. I think they will need someone with more senior experience to get them to top 6.
That's my thinking too, there's just something about him, that makes me very sceptical about him as a 'top' manager.
However, personally, I think unless they lose the majority of their opening games, I think they should stick with him.
They need stability as a club. Slow build.
Good luck to them.
As a Boro fan, I'd love our club to be in their position.

To paraphrase Brian Clough.

Whatever Newcastle may win under their new regime, and no bones about it, a regime it certainly is. They can chuck all the ill gotten pots and pans in the bin as it will all be meaningless, worthless, a total waste of time with a big dirty asterisk in the record books.

Remember our cup won in 2004, it means a million times what buying a champions league with blood money will mean to Newcastle.

Eddie Howe has done very well since coming in. They're much better having someone like him than just picking an off the shelf "elite" manager.

Hopefully the Geordies will want a name and they get rid of him for someone *****. Just look at how doolally they went when Rafa was their manager. Didn't matter that he was scraping goalless draw after goalless draw. They'd seen him on the telly managing big clubs Liverpool and Chelsea so it felt like they were a big club too.

His points tally either side of the window, so with better players again he could improve that?

0.83 points per game before January.

1.94 points per game from January onwards.

There were also some absolute dross teams on horrendous losing streaks, seemingly trying to get relegated last season, that may not be the case this season.

I think they've another summer transfer window before they can realistically become a contender for the top places.. & that would require Howe to perform too.. else he'll be booted & rebuilding starts again..

Cup could be in the cards, though they are still no where near Keegan's team..

Not sure I feel comfortable with our major investor bombing the **** out of another country, stoning women who reported they have been gang raped, murdering foreign journalists, ordering executions of hundreds for not agreeing with his rules, treat gay people with no respect, not to mention what he has done to young girls. Abramovic gets everything taken off him for supporting Putin…the Newcastle major shareholder actually instructs bombs to be dropped. I’m happy with Gibbo’s and his investment.
