It gives the club valuable data about who is using tickets themselves and who is sharing or regularly passing tickets to friends. They can use that information to market offers to those people and maybe sell a few more tickets. It can be used to help prevent abuse of the priority points system with people buying high demand tickets and selling them on for a profit. It can be used to help prevent people getting in on concession tickets they don’t qualify for.Of course it is, why go automatic otherwise?
