New posters in Middlesbrough Town Centre

awful! Why don't they employ a Creative Director? I wonder if Don Draper is available

I mean, who are these posters talking to? What is the message - surely there has got o be more than "we are mint".

Looks like a gross waste of tax payers money to me.

Is this part of our bid for 'city of culture'?

WTF!
I’m of the opinion the next time the city status comes up is that we should do a Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption when he was seeking Parole .
Go into the interview and basically tell them we don’t really care and they can shove it up their @rses . It might work as opposed to the sucking up that never does especially since we’re not Scottish, Welsh or from Ulster .

Bit silly but not really anything to get annoyed about.
Kind of disagree here. It's really embarrassing and not a great reflection on the Town. Makes u look a little, well parochial I guess. It doesn't seem very forward thinking to me.

Given that Coventry is the current city of culture, I'm not sure if the award is actually now damning with faint praise!

Noticed these on the way to the Riverside recently and thought it was cringeworthy. Why not go for something a bit more ambitious like we built the world?
This exactly! We need something like Manchester’s “worker bee” motif.

We created the railways, the bridges and the steel that holds the world together. I’m sure we can reflect that rather than chicken in breadcrumbs

But who is the target audience and what are we supposed to take from it? We need the council to tell us "who built the World" or "We like Parmos"? Surely, We could spend money on more meaningful messaging. It reminds me of the old cartoon of a sign in the middle of a field that says "Don't throw stones at this sign"

I do like the idea of a local identity (like the manchester bee). Fortunately we have the Transporter and the phrase "We built the world". Very powerful messaging to people who are not from the area.

This is true. It's how we promote those ideals really. Not many people from outside the region would get the "we built the world" stuff. Although anyone aware of the town (Region? as a Stocktonianite I feel it reflects more than just Middlesbrough) would understand the Transport bridge motif so maybe we can build on that? Or, given there are similar bridges in other places (such as Buenos Aries and Bilbao) do we need something else?

Oh i can see the Vegans coming out in force, ripping them down in a ritualistic protest and throwing them into the Tees whilst celebrating drinking Kale smoothies.
