New police guidelines on 'reasonable excuse' to go out

It's hard to put sarcasm across on the internet.

People can go where they want, I've given up caring what other people do now, it was affecting my mindset and anxiety.. Me personally, I have left my village twice in the past 28 days. 😀
How did they cope without their idiot?:D

If you're looking to push the boundaries of seeking loopholes then you probably need to ask yourself some difficult questions and give yourself some honest answers.
People on here have recounted examples of people not social distancing so it should be no surprise that some will also ignore the idea of staying at home as much as possible. I've seen it from my living room window.
We are making progress towards a less restrictive future even with those who are willfully ignoring the lockdown, please don't join them just because there seems to be leeway in the guidance.

I was in the supermarket (wearing a 😷)with my elderly father during the special opening hours and we were socially distancing following the rules keeping our distance etc and I was in one aisle and I glanced behind me and there was an woman stood right behind me looking at the food on the aisle she almost knocked into me.

I couldn’t believing it.

so as you say to some people they just don’t care

Think this guidance is really unhelpful. There are lots of people chomping at the bit to push it. Just as we seem to be getting on top of things do we really need to give the more selfish amongst us an absolute to start acting irresponsibly?

I see plenty of people ignoring government advice, groups of blokes on bike rides, obv neighbours or friends walking dogs together, it was always going to be the case, but the majority are doing the best they can and getting on with what is expected.

It’s not hard, isolate and we’ll get out of this quicker. Still think the government need to get a grip of London - the images of people clapping on London Bridge is just stupid.

Just seen that video. Unbelievable.

The police are as culpable standing next to each other.

You could always buy paint brushes... just get em from the supermarket or buy them online. You just can't go out specifically to get DIY stuff. It's not brain surgery is it?

That is the point zorro, some people don't care and some others are too gormless to work things out.
The behaviour of some while shopping is sad.
I agree re those cycling and running too.
I swim a lot and am missing it greatly, but I can put up with missing it on a lockdown.
Why can't people just think ffs

Rules or guidelines should be there to provide clarity and outline what is and isn’t acceptable, these latest updates have if anything added to the ambiguity and will create more queries than solutions, you have to give parameters that apply to all, before we knew we had one hour a day to exercise, this kept majority of people local (within 10 minutes of home) does this still apply and if not what is the new figure ? You can just see an unnecessary influx of people to certain places based on this seemingly new criteria which I’m sure isn’t the intention.

I think allowing bikes was wrong as well on the list as then everyone would know that anyone on a bike was breaking the rules - unless travelling for essential work (so same as with cars), no ifs or buts

But now people on bikes can pretty do what they want without impunity.

It’s too broad and to ambiguous.

I went out on my bike for an hour and a half.
Barely saw a soul
Where’s the problem

Amazon and eBay sell everything you could ever need and deliver straight to your door. I don't get why people need to visit DIY shops for example for paint and paint brushes.

As a cyclist myself I'd love to use the quieter roads to get out and about, but I haven't done so because I think it could cause problems.
I think too much, that is just how my personality is and I've accepted that, as well as understanding how people who aren't wired in the same way as me think differently even though it can frustrate the hell out of me.
I remember seeing a compilation video of Italian mayor's asking their citizens to stay at home, particularly the one who got very irate that everyone now seems to be a marathon runner in lockdown.

That’s fair enough Dood.
There are no restrictions on cycling and, if you risk assess it, it stacks up pretty well.

My daughter said something to me the other evening (she's allowed to, she lives here) - "Just think how dumb the average punter is then think that half the population is dumber".

The driving issue seems mad to me. The more cars making non essential journeys will lead to a greater risk of accidents that can end up tieing up emergency services, hospital staff etc. The problem for me is selfishness of people. It gives carte blanche for anyone to just go out for a drive to relieve boredom as how will the police know you haven’t been exercising somewhere nearby? People might end up flocking to the same old beauty spots creating social distancing issues in rural areas instead. The more people move around from area to area, the more risk is created. I think it is barmy.

I can see the police being pretty fed up as well, as it makes their job much harder as people will simply lie. Only last weekend the authorities pleaded with people to Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save lives. Time will tell, but I suspect we will see a significant upturn in the use of vehicles now.

At last common sense. I posted about this weeks ago and got dogs abuse back from some, specifically - RandySavage, Spannishman and Malaguena, who resorted to abuse rather than trying to argue their case, and despite the fact that I'd clearly stated that I was sticking to the guidelines but didn't agree with them.

In fact Snowflakeman got so upset with Fluffycarpet and myself that he hit the "Ignore" ......:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So this latest clarification kind of makes you sad individuals look like fools now doesn't it. I won't wait for an apology

From Thread "Those People Sat in Parks Today"

Fluffy and Konrad just reinforcing the point - "I know best and I'll do what I want" - Malaguena

Why don't you understand the risk of driving somewhere remote for a 'walk'?
Are you one of the 'im alright jack' folks? - RandySavage

And these idiots will be the first to complain when an italian style lockdown is brought in once Boris is back running the daily press conferences. - RandySavage

I have and have come to the conclusion that you can't reason with stupidity. Of course these fools know better don't they until they are begging for oxygen on a side ward somewhere 👀 - RandySavage

Driving somewhere for a walk or exercise is just a **** poor excuse to get around the government's instructions, why try and deny that? Come on don't be so naive. - RandySavage
