Came across this today and although its from Oct 2016 it new to me. So I figured I would post it. I have only ever heard a cover of Walk On The Wild Side by this lady but this is excellent. Probably the best thing I have posted today. But that's just my opinion.
Well we have had a bit of retro from Walt Disco earlier in todays posts so lets finish today with a bit more. I like this even with the obvious references.
Think there has been a few good releases this week.
Sprinters - Really like this band, based around singer/writer Neil Jarvis. The line-up changes around him every so often; they've released a couple of cracking LP's in the last few years including this track from their latest album 'Struck Gold'. You could just as easily call them the Wigan Real Estate! The band featured in the vid is not Sprinters; it's a p*ss-take video, obviously!
She did a really great version of this Nick Cave song years ago on Triple J. Its just been released on the June edition of Mojo which has a cover disc called The Good Songs. Worth getting there is some great covers. Worth it for Giant Sands version of Red Right Hand alone.
Sharon Van Etten covers Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds 'People Ain't No Good' for Like A Version on Triple J.
A glimpse of the brand new single of my neighbour, the extremely talented Leddie MC - we live a few doors down from each other. Her new single was released yesterday.

I always liked the S.O.D. original as a powerful indictment of racism. Unfortunately it was hijacked by right wing Americans. I'm happy they've updated it, and Mike Patton, replacing Billy Milano, can still sing both high and gruff, and speak a number of languages.
