Neil warnock interview on sky now

Two dozen players signed in just over a year. Did someone else choose all of them?

And if that’s what no support looks like then god help us.
I am in despair at comments from some people on various threads. I Chose this one to pass comment on as I really thought you of all posters were better than this type of crass comment Viv. There have been stupider posts in the last 13 hours, granted, but not from people i once respected.

If you are expecting your partner to buy some fillet steak at the butchers for tea and she returns with a piece of frying steak you still have steak to cook, just a different quality. Will you have the same experience once it is prepared? Of course not.

Our club have been woeful in recruitment for years. January 2017 when they hung Karanka out to dry still rankles with me. It is not about the numbers it is about the quality. For far too long we have been window shopping at John Lewis and buying from Primark. It is about quality not numbers. I have been saying for years on here that several managers have had to make do and mend, rarely getting the targets they really wanted. Karanka told us all expressly and honestly, now Neil has too, yet people still don’t listen, preferring to hear the propaganda from Teessides residence number 55. Poor financial management is not the managers fault but they carry the can.

I will leave it there I have said it all before anyway, the truth is hidden in plain sight, yet very care to see it. I am sick of the smoke and mirrors and lies. Fans are misled constantly. The official statement after a great result was saddening. Neil told us the reality of it all.

Thank you Neil for rescuing Boro from the depths, steadying the ship and leaving the first team in a better state than you found it. Wilder will take it forward and whilst he is a good appointment, he is no Neil Warnock. I am sorry you had to endure the management of Boro at a time when we were in dire straits Neil, not unlike Willie Maddren and Tony Mowbray, I think you have laid the foundations for someone else to take the glory. You will always have my gratitude, thanks and best wishes.

Absolutely hammered everyone but Gibbo. I thought he was leaving by mutual concent.... Definitely not.

He had a little pop saying 'the new gaffer will probably get the 3 or 4 players I wanted'. So sounds like whoever it is may get a few quid
There’s some bitterness there from Warnock for me
If he was so unhappy then say and do something at the time, not now, comes across as sour grapes.
I do think there’s some truth in it but seems to me his ego has been dented

Neil Bauser and his crew are the problem. Their negotiation skills are a joke and they are the reason deals fell through. They thought they could buy caviar for haribo money but every single player just walked away leaving us with what we have.

I wanted Warnock out but not like this. This is not how we behave. We have taken some fall in recent years.

Gibbo needs to a handle on things and look to sort it out or we'll just become a laughing stock like our friends up the road.

Neil Warnock managed us brilliantly in a tough period with the pandemic BUT (and this is what is missing from your post) the club must of been tanking money during this time and it’s obviously meant we had to cut our cloth and therefore look in a different shopping window for players fees and wages
Which part of that don’t you want to accept ?

What was the point in giving warnock anything to spend when he would have left next summer ? Also would have only brought in "good lads" that he'd had 10 years ago !
This was always the dilemma for Gibson
Giving Warnock significant funds in January knowing he was off at the end of the season
If he didn’t get us promoted then a massive gamble because he’d leave and we’d have little funds for a new manager who’d want to change things for himself and quite rightly

Although I’m not convinced by bausor you just can’t make all those disparaging statements without some solid evidence of being there and seeing it and you don’t have that.
I’m not defending the recruitment team but fault probably lies a little bit at everyone’s door

It's just a difference of opinion from Viv Col, I don't think he's made a crass comment? Probably a bit harsh! He's just pointing out we've brought in a lot of players for Warnock. Some might not be his picks, but plenty have been. And I know you really respect NW but you have to admit he likes a moan.

Good to see you posting again though.

Not sure I agree with that Col, Warnock’s been backed in the transfer market.

I don’t think of him as a Woody or a Southgate who was obviously managing with a view to cost-cutting.

We brought in Chuba, Hall, Morsy and Roberts a year ago. Then we brought in expensive loans in Bolasie and Kebano, and got worse.

Then this summer we brought in 11 players (admittedly because we had the latitude in wages when the big earners left), including the big target man Warnock said he needed, another striker from Sporting Lisbon, plus six (?) players Warnock has had before. Can’t remember, but we were either the biggest spenders or brought in the most players in the Championship this summer. And we got worse again.

I agree with him that we’re probably still 2-3 players short, and agree with him that there’s two different philosophies happening with recruitment. But I still think our squad is better than it has shown on the pitch, which is the manager’s job, and it’s hard to claim you haven’t been backed by recruitment when so many of your players have come in.

I like Warnock and feel a bit sad that he’s gone but it’s a tiny bit like Pulis claiming he’s got none of “Steve’s” money to spend, whilst simultaneously spending £12m on Saville and Flint.

I know it as factual because I have a friend that is part of the "scouting/ recruitment team"

It is widely known that he is an arrogant power freak that doesn't like others getting involved in anything.

This is information I was given many weeks ago...

1) Sam Morsy was forced out of the club to balance the books. He was told Ipswich wanted him, 3 yrs more money, but he rejected it as he loves it at Boro. Warnock didn't want to sell him. Bausor told Warnock not to play him, but he did (the game where he got sent off). Morsy was offered the contract again but rejected. The final day Bausor told Morsy that if he stayed he would ban him from playing. So he left. Warnock was furious.

2) Warnock only signed 2 of the summer signings Crooks and Ikpeazu. The rest were signed by the board. Lea Silke was signed with a reference from the new Director of Footy. Bamba was a mutual agreement due to him being available as a youth coach.

3) Bausor did not want Warnock to stay the extra, Gibson did. He will be sacked before Xmas if they can find someone. They want a foreign manager. Don't know why.

4) Payero has been ****. Very weak, slow and not that skillful. Everyone is confused why he was signed. Warnock did not sign him and was not happy that ÂŁ6m was spent on him.

5) The club is in a bit of turmoil at the top with Bausor being a bit of a renegade and ******* off a lot of staff and players. The players are not happy with how Morsy was treated.

To be fair I'd argue that Uche / Crooks / Peltier and Sol have all been value for money. I am presuming they are very much 'Warnock players'.

Despite all the Payero songs and loving I've seen nothing to suggest he's a 4-5mil player. JLS looks well off it (fitness and basic passing) and Sporar looks alright. Yet only 2 goals and I imagine large loan fee and wages.

So are we convinced so far by the new recruitment model? I'm not. It maybe in the future buts it's yet to unearth a gem. I know it's early days.

Just maybe Warnock wanted a proven Champo CM instead of Payero. I mean hindsights a funny thing but we would have been better getting Patterson on a free. They play the same position and he's having a blinder at Swansea (I'm not saying Warnock wanted him).

Very interesting stuff! Not doubting your info at all mate, but:

(2) Lumley, Peltier, Bamba? Surely Warnock signings, he’s had them all before. And didn’t he have Ameobi at Cardiff?

(4) Payero’s showed some real quality, though you did say this was a few weeks ago and can understand why a manager would be annoyed at £6m spent on a development prospect.

I don’t care what anyone says, with bola Fry and diksteel fit and then sol McNair and all the other options in midfield and upfront with watmore sporar coburn uche we have a squad and team capable of making the playoffs right now
Just perhaps need one more leader like a leadbitter
Maybe it’s a Centre half or left back but we need someone who will be our on field general in the games which require a toughness to drag us through
Morrison from Cardiff springs to mind
