Names going out of existence.

I have never met a Cecil, Cyrill, Cuthbert, Bertram Eunice, Matilda. I have known a Hubert and a Eugene

I work in a primary school and have taught (or even met today) six names from this thread.

Some names in particular have indeed provoked the "Who looked at a baby born after 1970 and called them that?!" thoughts.

Poor typo on my part - that’s actually my name so no insult intended!
I thought Paul would be popular forever when I was a kid, there were loads of us in my generation. I now think it would be strange if somebody said they'd named their baby Paul and at no point did I think of calling my son it. How times change.

Each generation tries to pick new baby names different to the ones around when they themselves were young, everything comes around again, it goes in cycles. Pencil in the Paul resurgence for 2043.

Really hated my forename when I was a kid, I was the only kid I'd ever heard of saddled with it. I fully expected it to disappear soon -and then a prince comes along and it's suddenly back in fashion.

You should have tried growing up with a name like Stephen Bumface mate. Children can be so cruel.

Whenever I see the name Bumface, Phil Collins comes to mind (unfortunately).

I'm unfortunately a Brian and whenever I mention it in France to anyone around my age I get the response "Brian is in the kitchen" after a children's book that was used to teach elementary english. I think I'll change my name to something like Fennemore.
