Name someone you like with opposite views

My brother-in-law is a raging racist but I get on really well with him, took me years to warm to him. People are very rarely one dimensional. On Racheal Riley, what are her views? I haven't heard anything bad about her and I love her on 8 out of 10 cats does countrdown.
She doesn't exactly do much on 8out10 - well not when I've watched!

I'm probably at the other end of the political spectrum to Candace Owens but I think she speaks very well.

I'm not saying I like her but I enjoy listening to her speaking.

She posted this which got her in a bit of bother...

Interesting subject, this. Similarly, we often need to separate the output of creative people - artists, performers, writers etc - from their own values and behaviour. By many accounts John Lennon was an utter asrehole at times and Philip Larkin a well-documented racist. Doesn't detract from their work though - for me anyway.

I reckon I could get on all right with Michael Portillo.

I have a friend who votes UKIP. We get on really well together, don't shy away from talking about politics and usually end up agreeing about most things. We both want the same thing, but differ on how to achieve it. It's qute weird. Maybe he's not a real "kipper" or else I'm not a real lefty, who knows?

Also, I've been on fmttm for 20 years with the same username (more or less) and signed up to this forum months ago, so why the h*ll am I still described as a "New member"?

I’ll nominate half of this board! I see some mental views and opinions on here everyday but still manage to have amicable discussion about other things!

I can get on with anyone really I don't take any notice of political leanings or anything like that, it's just as bad as religion in my book, id love to have a beer with Tony mowbray
I also get along with most people and rarely discuss politics with anyone.

I once met Margaret Thatcher when she visited a construction job I was working on in 1985 and I couldn’t believe how warm and personable she was, nothing like her public image.
Ive watched Documentary on Thatcher that was on this week. Those whocworked for her said she was warm and caring.

Don’t think I’ve ever based whether I like someone based on their political siding. Just whether I get on with them or if they act like a complete bell then I probs wouldn’t want to be in their company again.

Sure you would all love me 😜

Going by MPs I had a meeting with Sarah Newton when she was minister for disabled and work and health. (Stood down now) I spent some time alone with her and she was extremely personable really interested in my role and views I had.
