Muniz

He's been one of the few shining lights from the start of this season.

He is such a good striker.

I'd say he's the best striker we've had since Bamford...and that's based on a small handful of appearances.

Saying that, it wouldn't have took a lot to be better than the last 4/5 seasons worth of absolute trash we've had playing up top.
He's only really been here 1/3rd of the games too, we would be sat much higher up the table if he had been here for the other 2/3rds, although strangely enough, I think we played better in the first 2/3rds of the games (this isn't his fault).

We need to be doing what we can to sign him, before some others from down south come sniffing, that's assuming he would want to come here permanently. He could get the illusive 20 goals this year, or he would in the near future.

At 21 he's only going to get better (I would think).

Exactly like I said. Felt contact from the arm, which was not worthy of a foul, and went down looking for a penalty. Contact was made with the leg when he was already on his way down so it's irrelevant. Look at his body in that final screenshot. Back arched, arms flailing in the classic dive pose.

The contact from the arm was outside the box so even if it was a foul, which it wasn't, it was outside the box.

Why not show the video? You can make any conclusion you want from screenshots about "clearly unbalanced". I watched it and he clearly wasn't unbalanced. It was two players fairly jostling. The angle of the body from Muniz wasn't from a push, it was just the way he controlled the ball that was behind him and changed direction.

There's a reason that nobody is mentioning the "penalty" in any of the reports and it's not because it's a conspiracy. It just wasn't worth discussion because it definitely wasn't a penalty.
It doesn't matter if someone "is on the way down" or not, if you're not in possession it's still a foul. It's like standing on someone when they're on the deck, or kicking someone in the leg off the ball, you've no right to do it.

Also, shoulder to shoulder isn't a foul, but a push/ arm up the back is, certainly when not level, which he wasn't.

It's hard to stay on your feet when your balance is compromised by a push/ trip, especially at speed, which is why things always look more like dives/ going down easy on slow-motion replays.

Should have been a free kick and a red, he wasn't going for the ball and the fouls started outside the box.

Agree.

I am actually excited to see Muniz & Akpom up top. Hopefully another presence and body closer to goal will only help Muniz (McGree hasn't been the answer IMO).

Plus, they are clearly our best 2 strikers, without any doubt.

Yup, I think they will be a handful for the first 60-70 mins of games, then we can bring Watmore on who the oppo defenders will not want to be seeing, running around like a nutter for the last 30.

We probably should have kept hold of him for last year, can't really blame him for not scoring often in the 20/21 season when we were lacking creativity (and had a mare the year prior).
