Mr Bates vs The Post Office

Shouldn't take a TV drama to galvanise the country but it seems to have had that effect and I think the repercussions and criminal prosecutions against the PO will ensue. If anything this Government will want to be seen to do something now.
You're right, It shouldn't take a TV drama to galvanize the country.

But, Ian Hislop and Private Eye have been writing about this for a good few years now. There was also a Panorama documentary about 18 months ago, which again, had nowhere near the effect that the drama has had.

Whether this will lead to somebody being properly held to account, is I think pretty doubtful. This bunch of corrupt, conniving cowards are more bothered about suppressing protest and dissent and then jailing those who dare to defy them.

I actually worked on Horizon software around 25 years ago does not surprise me it is a bit buggy fortunately I only worked on it for a few months and not on any of the fraud detection stuff thankfully actually the stuff were working on got binned when Labour got into power and stopped the majority of the project

The blog below covers the current Horizon IT inquiry.
The account of Jarnail Singh the Head of Criminal Law in the Post Office is particularly damning. The fact that he was able to get to the position he did in the organisation reveals what a complete sh1t show of a Company it was.

Just catching up on the series, having watched the first two episodes last night. Very well done by a great ensemble cast.

I've mentioned on here before that I have a couple of friends who lost their wee village post office through this scandal. They didn't go to court but lost all their savings by having to settle the 'deficit' or go to jail. Terrible effect on them, running the local post office was their dream, they're good people just like those in the drama and they really went through the wringer.

Have they pursued any recourse? I hope they have and that they are successful.

Watched the programme and am staggered

Just seen that the Met Police are now involved regarding perjury and perverting the course of justice throughout the Horizon Scandal

Have the Police been involved before now?

I’ve binged all four and the documentary today.

I found it painful to watch in parts and had to walk away and take a break from it . If I may post spoilers the poor guy who was held up at gunpoint and jumped in front of the bus and the poor Asian lady who tried to take her own life. Innocent lives shattered.

And there were thousands more.

Heads should roll. They won’t though. How some of them sleep at night.

One bunch of crooks investigating another bunch.
Paula Vennels was a lady of the cloth in the CofE, who are infested with the Masons, as are the Met, and the Royal Family for that matter. This will be another whitewash!!!
