I'm criticising the machinery of political parties. All of them. If this was your wife or daughter you wouldn't stand by while they went through what is effectively a grievance process. You'd encourage them to report it to the police and let the law take the complaint through due process. I'm saying in two recent cases the Conservative Party has sat on serious allegations when their duty of care to the individual should have prompted an immediate referral to the police.
Unfortunately the Tories have form in terms of closing ranks and trying to manage the fallout from this sort of thing.
And as for Coopers point that this should not be used politically, I don’t accept for a moment that the Tories wouldn’t try to use this politically, so why shouldn’t any other party?
Politics is a very public blame game, if it’s a Tory criminal disgrace then I think It needs to be said even if you don’t like the bad publicity.

Think you have misunderstood a little. I didn’t say the tories or any other wouldn’t. What I’m saying is people saying no surprise it’s a Tory mp, they have form for rape accusations etc. You are no more likely to be an accused rapist belonging to the Tory party than any other, that is essentially stating it’s the home of the rapists party.

I am not sure "people" are saying that. You are trying to infer it.

Tbh Cooper, when I heard about this last night I assumed it was someone who had been a member of a tiny Trot cult entity like the SWP or the WRP. They definately have form in this area.

I agree with you but politics is a dirty, dirty game and the Tories play it dirtier than anyone and so, in my opinion, can’t complain when others play dirty.

I don't have the time to guess what you're trying to say flip side. I'm not certain you even know yourself. Make a statement but try to be clear and concise, that will give us all a chance.
I get the feeling you are you being deliberately mischievous and argumentative.
I've no idea why. Perhaps it's you trying to be a bit clever. But you're coming across as a bit daft really.
So unless you want a grown up conversation I'll leave it there and bid you farewell.

Hmmm I would say Festa, EFL and Piccadilly comments on previous pages are doing as much
I agree with your sentiment coops but there will always be those who take a partisan approach. Mebe even yourself were ’looking’ to make that very point.

Reports indicate ReesMogg and others have been in the loop on this for some time trying to keep it all ‘in house’
If that is the case then it needs dealing with.

If this is the case does it make them accessories after the fact?

I wondered how long it would be before you accused me of being thick and not on your level of intellect. I asked you to make yourself clear, for the laymen. You chose not to but instead directed criticism my way.

That was former Conservative MP Charlie Elphicke who was convicted of sexually assaulting two women nearly a decade apart. One of his victims had reported his actions to senior party figures nearly a year before police were called.
No just last week, the guy was gay but was sexually pestering a female HOC assistant.

Moans like phuck when others twist his words. More than happy to do it to others though.

The only person who's mentioned all Tories being rapists is yourself.

Pathetic.

Hmmm not sure I said all tories 🙄

Your comment basically reads as a sarcastic your not surprised it’s a Tory MP. Why would not be surprised... you are insinuating by that you believe a Tory MP more likely than any other political party

That's a big difference from saying Tories are rapists. I don't expect any MP to be a rapist.

However if you're a Tory MP you're fully signed up to a party that's presided over windrush, Grenfell, child poverty rates that have been criticized by the UN, drastic increase in food banks and most recently have discharged people with covid symptoms into care homes. Just off the top of my head.

In my opinion to be a member of the Tory party suggests accepting a lower standard of morals and behaviour than to be a member of the other mainstream parties. So no I'm not surprised that in the unlikely event an MP is guilty of rape (obvious not confirmed in this case) that the MP would be a Tory. They seem to attract an above average share of a certain type of self centred, entitled and privileged individuals who believe they can take and do what they want.

What about your average joe public convicted rapist? As they are certainly of lower standing and morals would expect to see a biggest percentage of them to conservative voters?

The odds suggest it would be a Tory MP simply by he fact there is more than any other party.

Take Eric Joyce convicted drink driver, common assault and child sex offender. The latter obviously after he ceased being an MP but the charge related to video made between 2013-2018 so could have been when acting as an MP. Is it more likely if an MP is charged with one of the above it’s most likely to be a labour one as one had a proven track record?
