Mowbray close to tears

I don't have an issue with Mogga managing Sunderland, yes I get the rivalry, but it's his profession and it may come as a little bit of a shock but the local clubs generally have very good working relationships with one another, albeit I'm not sighted on how things currently stand.

The guy had a huge amount of integrity and bags of humility and I'm really pleased for him personally, more so given that he pipped Blackburn, who never should have sacked him.

Football rivalries add to the excitement, but ultimately fans are the same wherever you go.

We're all football supporters and suggesting that fans from X club are 'different', is just daft really.

His nephew isn't due to the way we handled his sacking, which was disgraceful apparently. Since then, he's never supported us. Not sure about his son's though.
I get that impression that he would love to turn us over after leaving on bad terms in his eyes. Hugely disappointed when fry got that bad eye injury and Mowbray didnt have one ounce of sympathy or care for frys wellbeing.

Really worry about playing Sunderland should we both get through to Wembley. They are the team that have come with momentum and Mowbray has a great record against us with teams he's managed. But as he says It Is What It Is. Coventry will be hard enough so lets get them sorted first.

Luton will beat them

Oh right, didn’t know that. Who does his nephew support?

We had had quite a few very popular players go on to play for or manage Sunderland or Newcastle.

Big Jack
Stuart Boam
Mogga
Cloughie
Mark Viduka
Downing (ok that was a loan earlier in his career)
Zenden
Cattermole

Probably loads more. But it’s not like when Stuart Boam gets mentioned on here anyone says “ah yeah but the tvvat went on to play for the Geordies”.

Our manager is a Newcastle fan but he seems to like us, and we like him. It's just what happens in football.
Same with Robbo. Nobody really talked about him growing up as a Newcastle fan. Though, similar to Carrick, I do think his allegiances were far closer to red and black than black and white by the time he got here.

Big Jack was a Newcastle fan who was a club legend at Leeds.

I wonder who Colin Cooper grew up supporting. Sedgefield has a really mixed bag I think?

Used to be 'Boro well before Mogga became our manager and he always followed Mowbray's teams (as you probably would - 2nd team type of thing)

But then once Mogga parted ways as our manager, he changed his alliance with us big time. I don't know exactly what went on, but his nephew definitely cut his ties with 'Boro and he has never had a good word to say about us ever since.

Fair enough, but who did he change his allegiance to?

Is it his younger brother’s son you’re on about?

If you take a televised interview at face value sure he didn’t have a shred of sympathy

Feeling the pressure of losing his hero status in the boro and potentially upsetting his son if they did meet us and knocknus out. If i was in that situation i certainly wouldnt enjoy the thought of that happening.

Not sure he's been a big supporter of anyone ever since, other than when Mowbray is manager - so I'll be expecting him to be at the Stadium of Light come Saturday evening, supporting them.

No, the other side of his family.
Ah ok. Is he a Teessider?

His brother, Darren Mowbray, is Head of Recruitment at Aberdeen.

I have no warm feeling for Mowbray at all.
I hope he is even more miserable than usual by next Wednesday.
I just don’t get the love for him at all. Way too much water has flown under the bridge to care about him.
