Obviously his detractors on here will pile in, but he improved under Carrick, we are light in numbers in that area - and he knows the squad/system

He’s a good player, when howson needs a rest he’s ideal to come in and steady the ship. If we can get him for low fee and wages that don’t break the bank I can’t see why we wouldnt want him back.

He wasn't good enough last season. He's not going to have improved over the summer. It's a waste of money spending on backups that aren't good enough. We should be putting that towards a Howson replacement.

He was improving towards the end of last season and I would expect him to get better as the season goes on.
Good player on his day and would be a good addition to the squad. He's also had a full preseason and should be up to speed.
But we are probably not looking at him??

Stewart is the only one who improves our chances. He stays fit he scores goals. Bit of a risk but I'd still have him.

We’ve got the squad, as you say we need real quality now. Mowatt wouldn’t get into our starting eleven so it makes absolutely no sense to bring him back.
