Moscow attack

Plenty of media reporting that Russia are refusing to mention ISIS, instead alluding to Ukrainian involvement. It seems the horrific death of 133 people could be used to really escalate what is already a terrible situation with Ukraine.

After two years chances of a ceasefire look remote.

What exactly is Putin’s end game now?

Imagine it is to get back all the states and reform the Soviet Union.

The west should have backed Ukraine to the hilt from day one. Why are we still adding sanctions after two years. Every sanction possible should have been done on day one.

He has had two years to get the country on a war footing and reorganise and prepare for all eventualities. Meanwhile the west has provided just enough for Ukraine to survive. And now appear to be reducing that. Just as they are increasing production and churning out much more ammo than we care to provide.

By doing this I see the we have just wasted two years, billions of pounds and thousand of life’s. Putin had gambled on us giving up and allowing him to just keep grinding away slowly till he gets what he wants. He appears to be correct.

If we had given what was needed earlier in the 1st year and kept supplying maybe just maybe Putins resolve would have waived and so maybe his domestic support too.

If things do escalate I doubt very much the collective have anywhere near capacity to increase our war footing and start to churn out the amo needed.

Ukraine’s ability to survive could quickly disappear if Trump is elected. That will really be a waste of two years.

Saw a twitter thread & the UK used to export £300m worth of cars to Russia and now can't due to sanctions. So exports to Russia have dropped to zero but nearby Azerbaijan has suddenly started importing more cars from the UK than ever before about £300m's worth.

I am on holiday in Spain and while watching the England game last night got chatting to a Polish guy who was on holiday, obviously we got chatting about football then as the beers flowed we chatted about the gun attack in Moscow and how the Russians may use to their advantage. The Polish guy is genuinely concerned that if Russia attacks Poland after it takes the Ukraine( which seems on the cards)will the rest of NATO stand up for it, if America says it won't after the next election, then other members might follow suite. Personally I think any British leader who stood back while Poland was attacked , it would be the end of them and their party, but both scenarios scare me- sitting back and doing nothing or joining the fight against Russians.

I fear many people of today, have no clue what: standing by Poland means, & fear most would think, ahh it's miles away, only Ukraine, only Poland.. only Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia..

Imagine if the UK had to go to war to defend Albania. Plenty of folk would be absolutely perplexed by it.

Seen similar in a few other industries… just a coincidence apparently…

This is why the west need to defend Ukraine 🇺🇦. By sitting back as we have, the Russians have moved to a war footing, learnt from mistakes and improving.

We should have done this when they took crimea , not just sat by and watched. Putin had called NATO’s bluff and it looks like it is going to pay off.

We are to cautious and worried about escalation and nuclear threat and Putin and his mates know it.

I just hope the advances they are making are halted and the strategy of Ukraine are diminishing the ability to keep going and they get nowhere near Poland

We're lucky that the Ukraine have been brave, steadfast and clever enough to drain them. The rest of europe is with the programme now .... quietly.
Putin's mob have missed the boat to ave things their own way. Trump is a big problem, but maybe not after tomorrow.

Do you really have first hand knowledge?

A majority of the World condemned Russia for the invasion of Ukraine and then yesterday gives them sympathy for the terrorist attack, plus the Americans gave Russia a heads up on it. What a strange World we live in.
Sympathy for innocent people getting killed, not for Putin he needs taking out.

Poland have massively increased their military capability lately. If Russia attacks Poland, NATO's response will be completely different to when Russia invaded Ukraine. The difference between Poland and Ukraine is one is a NATO member and the other isnt.

If Trump is elected and the US pull out of NATO it would be a disaster although I can understand Trumps concerns on this.

Im not sure what the process is when coming away from NATO? I would imagine its quite lengthy and not an overnight job. One day you're in, the next you're out. Either way the US would be leaving NATO at a time NATO needs them more than ever.

Trump seems to think leaving NATO would be easy like some thought leaving the EU would be.

Good luck withdrawing all US forces and equipment from European land mass. Besides, having US forces here gives the Americans leverage and they know it. Trump is playing to the crowd with threats to leave NATO.

He could definitely cut funding to Ukraine though. That is a genuine issue on the horizon.

A lot of Americans have been brought up hating and distrusting russia, I don’t think it’s the vote winner he thinks it is
