Morning Everyone

Really sorry to hear your news - you must feel sick - but I guess you'll be combing the internet for openings. Just did a Google search and on the face of it there are some jobs in your field apparently available. Just not very local. so if you could either A: work from home or B: are willing to travel a bit there is some hope. Otherwise, as a temporary measure I can think of one or two things that could be short term and might keep you going but they are going to be closer to minimum wage.

I’m in the construction industry and noticed on Linked In today an advertisement by the Esh Group trying to attract people into the construction industry as part of the Learning Curve Group. This looks like either an apprenticeship or retraining initiative for young or unemployed people, all construction related. Maybe worth a look on the web sites and seeing what’s available. Construction staff aren’t usually out of work for long and there are concerns just now that with Brexit the supply tap from the continent has been turned off so I have no doubt there will be plenty of opportunities. Another place to look is Anglo American polyhalite mine, they are having a big recruitment drive just now.

Thanks Ravs, I’m open to a change I guess as I’m only young and guess you can’t be too picky. I would like too think I can get a decent job but if not guess I will have to look around. I’ve applied for a purchasing role today in Billingham at Fujifilm. Gonna have a good look over the weekend. Not sure what notice I have to work yet hopefully it’s a few weeks as it’s all money I suppose.

Thanks Holgate. Sorry to be an annoyance but have you got a link! Lovely of you to help cheers.

Best Wishes Block21 - that is awful timing - I will keep my fingers crossed that a new opportunity opens up really quickly - you don't seem the type to hang about and have plenty of experience and knowledge. Good luck.

Thanks Rob. If you hear of any available work or potential work etc please shot it my way.

Alrite Block, sorry about your news, but ive had my entire life in the construction industry and i am self employed, which means i never see work beyond 12 months at best, sometimes its down to a few weeks, its just the way it is.
Construction tho is very busy at the minute especially with a lot of european workers having left England. Get in touch with as many recruitment companies that you can, be willing to do any labouring work and that could be a way into a company from which you could progress back into buying .im sure you will get sorted sooner rather than later. best wishes

Really sorry to hear that mate, but you’ve nowt to be embarrassed about and you’ll definitely bounce back from this. I work in a similar discipline so if I see/hear of anything I’ll let you know, although I don’t work in Teesside I sometimes see things pop up that may be of interest to you. Good luck mate, but it’ll be alright in the end. Sit tight 👍

Really sorry to hear this. It's strange how when everything seems to be going swimmingly sometimes life has a habit for giving you a swift kick in the jackson pollocks. Hopefully the dull ache will wear off quickly and you can get sorted out with a new job very soon.

It's great to see so many people offering words of encouragement and also pointing out some potential opportunities too. Best of luck with the search🍀. As others have said just keep being positive and I'm sure good things will happen.

All the best with your search. My son was laid off at the start of lockdown here, nearly a year ago. Fortunately, the Government here has been supplementing unemployment benefits and he just started a new job this week.

Embarrassed and upset to be writing this morning, especially with a new born baby and moving house next weekend. But I have been made redundant from work ( construction company , I was a buyer and helped with estimating etc) so if there is any jobs going anywhere please let me know. Open to most things as I need to be in work ASAP really. Boss couldn’t of timed this any worse. Heartbroken.
Sorry to hear that Block and I hope that you'll find something really soon. Take care of yourself and family.

Hi mate, not sure whether you are wanting to stay in construction or are open to a complete career change but many Police Forces are recruiting both Officers and PCSO’s - check out your local Force’s website for vacancies. Not sure where you live, but it’s worth a thought if you are stuck. Good luck.

Police, NHS all looking for people. My brother was made redundant during the last year and in spite of all the bad news you read there are opportunities out there. He found a job aged 61 when people say your written off at that age. Research the companies that you are applying to, think about what you are good at and skill sets you have .You are young and there is a future of work ahead of you, remain positive always. Think outside the box and do anything that brings something in so you don't have a gap in the c.v
Best of luck

Maybe not where your Long term ambitions are but Virgin Media are recruiting for contact centre representatives at the moment in Stockton. It might give you breathing time to look for the right opportunity for your future
