Morgan Rogers

He'll receive a substantial signing on fee and salary increase, like you said could set him up financially for life - if he's wise. From a football point of view, worst case scenario he ends up back on loan to a championship club but on much higher wages.
Shouldn’t a player want to develop his career to give himself the best possible chance of getting to the top in the game?

‘Set himself up financially for life’?

Too one dimensional in my opinion.

You won’t go down in football history books for that.

Have we ever sold or lost a player to the Prem and Boro fans not thought it was a bad career move? :ROFLMAO:

"He'll be back in the Championship next year" So what? On substantially more money that's for sure. Doesn't mean it was a bad career move, same goes for Tav, Giles, Spence.

If they go to a lower Prem side "Won't do him any good playing for the whipping boys, they'll be back in the Championship next year, bad career move". If they go to a good side "They'll never get a game, they'll be back in the Championship next year, bad career move".

I still say there was something funny about his transfer, maybe something we don’t know about.

I couldn’t get to the Riverside for the Sunderland game so watched it on Sky. They talked about the Rogers transfer during the coverage. According to them it happened after Unai Emery watched us in preparation before they played us in the FA cup and was blown away by Rogers. They also said it was a complete shock to both the club and Rogers, and that Rogers didn’t want to leave the club so soon but it was too good an opportunity to miss.

I’m guessing if Emery rates him so highly he’ll get opportunities.

He was clearly tapped up.

He missed a very good chance to score as well, putting it over the bar from edge of six yard box
That’s his issue now his chances will be extremely limited and the pressure to perform in them is immense plus emery is bound to go and sign a continental striker in the summer as well.

Some people here behaving like jilted exs. Really, this is sooner than ideal for him and us but in football you have to take your chance when it comes because you don't know when or if the next will be.

He'll hope to impress enough to get some pitch time this season then hope that being surrounded by top class footballers will turbo charge his development. If he goes on loan next season he will hope to go to a Premier league team or other top tier league.

Can't agree, it's a great move for him, swap a mid table championship team where he wasn’t playing every game to a top 4 premier league team, challenge yourself to make the break through and set yourself up financially for life.

If he is as good as you and others were saying he is, why would he end up at Leeds and even if he does that's looks he'll still be in the Premier league next year. I know we want to keep.our best players and those with potential but we also have to have a sense of realism and I don't know why we can't be pleased for our explayers who are offered a great opportunity to better themselves.
You don't know why we can't be pleased for our ex players. Really? I do wish people would be a bit more spiteful. Why wouldn't they be annoyed that other clubs are taking our best players. Are you Canadian? A Christian? Looking for a pat on the back?

Great business for us and Rogers. You can't knock him. He will only improve training with better players. Also a fantastic coach. They may well think a season loan is best for him. It doesn't mean he won't make it a villa.

I'm sure even he'd say it's come a bit early. He probably expected to be with us 2-3 years. It's easy to forget he's still only 20.

I don't think he's 'irreplaceable'. Azaz and Mcgree can more than fill that role. I'm sure that the deal will have cleared anything we owed on Azaz. I doubt we paid 2mil+ up front. Also may have wavered some future add ons etc.

I'm quite capable of feeling disappointed when someone leaves but also pleased for them personally if they are bettering themselves.

It's funny how times change, people only think about money as being successful. I would have played for Hartlepool/Darlo for free if I'd been good enough, sporting glory over money.

Has everyone forgot he’s just spent the last 3 years sat in Man City’s reserves going on endless loan moves after taking the dollar over games route.

He finally broke the mould for 6 months and just when he was starting to prove himself he has gone back to more of the same.

Stupid boy!

That’s what I said he was already in the prem at a title winning side not playing so now he’s back at a non title winning side still not playing.

He's been there two weeks. Do you think it might be a tad premature to assume he'll never play for their first team? Especially as their manager personally spotted him and made him their number one transfer target
