Morgan Rogers

Fair to say the honeymoon period is well and truly over with Carrick. I back him, but he needs to start rethinking some of these decisions.

It's all getting very Wilderesque (albeit without the throwing the players under the bus part).

Keep doing the same things but expecting different results. Like Wilder I'm sure Carrick will be looking at the stats and scratching his head a bit. But it can only go on so long before it's more than just not getting the rub of the green. Carrick didn't get us out of the rut last year by copying Wilder. He changed it.

The formation isn't working without Akpom. Something needs to change.

He was very poor today, seemed to want to keep dragging the ball back but it never worked

He certainly isn't good enough to be starting - should be an option on the bench at the moment and nothing more.

I think I'm the sole member of the Rogers fan club. 😆
At the risk of repeating myself the whole point of a no 10 is to create chances for others. I think after today that's eleven chances he's created, 0 we've converted. If we'd even stuck away half of them, he'd have 5 or 6 assists and our start to the season would be up to the heady heights of mediocre, instead of horrendous.
Just watched the "highlights" and his pass in for Jones actually sets him up pretty much perfectly.

You also have to do basic things like hold possession. He created a couple of chances. But he also lost the ball numerous times. Chubas role was to hold the ball and turn. It was about retaining possession in the final third and being able to build attacks and pressure. Controlling the game. That's why he only got a couple of assists.

done nothing to impress me yet .. values his hairstyle and image over his contribution to the team .. should have been hooked on 26 minuets today due to his dire attitude and lack of effort ..arrogance without the ability to back it up

Yeah I do agree with that. Particularly today lost possession probably more than anyone else.
But I don't think it's overwhelmingly negative with him, the fact he's created so many chances shows he has quality.
