surey based on his appearances for Plymouth, it would more be a reflection on Riley McGree's long term position at the club, not Rogers.
Maybe it was his keenness to get involved on Saturday but he didn't stay out wide at all and provide any width. I think he looks more a central play maker.

The idea that we approach players in negotiating going "Oh please sign for us, we promise to let you go the moment someone tries to sign you" is laughable to me. There might be the unspoken acknowledgement between both parties that we are likely a stepping stone for some of these players, but verbalising a "promise" to let them go is a pathetic approach to negotiation.
Yeah it's nonsense.

You sign for any championship club and shine you will eventually get picked up by a bigger club. And because of the daft money in the prem, a good offer isn't going to be turned down.

We don't need to promise anything beyond that because that's just the reality of being a championship side.

What we do try to offer is a culture and philosophy of developing young talent.

In the last two seasons we've shown we aren't afraid to play young talent, we have coaches focused on how to improve players (not just get results), and play a style that encourages players to be brave on the ball and express themselves that'll develop skills needed to play at a higher level.

That's why we're a good bet for young players.

Not because we promise to sell them below value the minute a prem side comes sniffing.

Especially when he's been here half a season - it's just bonkers.

We took a risk signing him, we have invested in him through training and game time.

If we are presenting the club as a stepping stone to a bigger move, fair enough but the timing has to be right and the rewards right for Boro.

It's not like Rogers is pulling up trees every week and looking like he is far ahead of the rest of the squad. He has plenty of room to develop and more importantly become consistent.

The best place for him to get this is with Boro.

Show some loyalty, develop and when the time is right, move on if that's better for your career.

Can he not remember - why - he wanted to leave City just 6 months ago: to play regular football??

He should state he wants to stay at least until the end of the season, tho I suspect he's dreaming about an obscene contract..

Not just modern players, but.. modern players..

Morgan Rogers didn't sign for us to play for us for the rest of his career. He's a young lad with no ties to the club, whose been at Man City and he'll have seen us as a a place to get his head down and play football under a young and respected manager and hopefully attract interest and earn a move to the PL which is what looks like has happened - Probably quicker than he or anyone imagined, but its happened.

We may have aspirations to play for Boro, sadly not many professional footballers do.
