We demonstrably are not weaker than the squad that started last season. And the three wingers contributed to a downturn in form so can't be seen to have improved the club.

We have one striker, as much as they were disliked we certainly havent upgraded on Britt or Fletcher

We have one untested winger, Ameobi looks to be out long term. Significantly weaker than Bolasie/Kebano and I highly doubt they were the reason for our drop in form

Squad is significantly weaker than last season, we can barely name a full bench as it stands

I love the stuff about the weather and there is nothing to do from a Reading player!

My guess is the rainfall on Teesside is lower than in Reading and certainly not higher. Ref all there is football - Doesn't Rockcliffe Park have the longest golf course in Europe? and 2 National Parks on its doorstep.

We didn't have Bolasie & Kebano until the second half of the season - comparisons need to be made at the same point of the season for me i.e. 4 games in last season with now. We are going to be bringing in at least 2 more players in the next 6 days.

Britt and Fletcher were both rubbish. Come on. You really think uche and coburn are a downgrade? Both look better players far more suited to Warnock's style of play.

Bolasie and kebano did not improve us. Certainly I'd be happier with a winger but they put Johnson out of the team, who was more effective than either of them. The big reason we went down the table was Tav was out. But the three we brought in weren't very good or effective. Saying we are a weaker squad because we lack three players who pulled us down the league is not a strong argument.

We'll get bolasie on deadline day I imagine. Last three deadline days he's been sat there making mournful eyes at any club that might be interested. No one seems to be.
 
Why is it when a potential deal hits a snag people on here are quick to apportion blame on the manager and/or the recruitment team. The player and his agent will ultimately decide where he goes. You cannot stop other clubs coming in with late offers. Footballers are commodities and will listen to their agent as to what move is best for them. If he goes elsewhere then so be it.

Do you think Uche and Coburn will command 15m & 7m transfers throughout their careers?

We are a way but weaker than last season. Every window since Monk we have gotten weaker. Keep your head firmly in that sand.
 
Don't get all the hate for Fletcher he is a decent footballer, he did not have a great season last year because of injuries, but before that he was looking very good, I think him and Uche would be of been a good partnership this season

Of course they are a downgrade. Ikpeazu has spent the majority of his career in the lower leagues with a pretty average goal return at even that level. Coburn has made a handful of appearances and will probably end up on loan in league two if we get another few strikers in

You can hate Fletcher and Assombalonga as much as you like, but Fletcher has gone to the premier league, and Assombalonga is a 1 in 3 striker in the championship. You would have to be completely deluded to argue we have upgraded on them

Bolasie/Kebano and Johnson are all gone now though, as it stands Ameobi is injured possibly long term, we have Jones who looks great but is very untested and have ended up playing Spence on the other side and thats it for wide options. Significantly weaker than last season at the moment
 
What worries me is if Warnock gets 'his type of player' in instead. He didn't think Jones was ready, an he's been the brightest spark we have. Makes you wonder what his 'type' is, an in my eyes that's tall and decent defensively.
 
Ok I've thought of something.

The British museum will not give the Elgin marbles back to the Greeks. The reason for this is that they say the Greeks are unable to guarantee their safety. The Greeks say what proof do you have. The British museum say the proof is we were able to steal them from you.
 
That's a good point, Britt 'wasn't arsed' last season and still ended up with the same amount of goals as Uche. An before you say 'he gets more chances at Boro', he doesn't, have you seen us play?
