Middlesbrough Supporters Forum - Monday

So, Boro BAME put out a statement saying MSF should operate independently of the club, several posters on here have said exactly the same. RF don't bother with MSF anymore either.

Yet that's not
RF meet with the club as often as MSF - just ask them.

Its a new week, so hopefully I can post here without being accused of posting too often.

MFC on November 14th:

We are working with Technical Kit Provider Errea to receive further deliveries as quickly as possible, with the adult away kit due in December.

Still no stock.

If the club receives a delivery between Xmas and New Year, I suppose its job done though, right?

Apart from.. they aren’t ordering any without the sponsor on. They wouldn’t let me order one.. they wouldn’t let me buy one online and when I went in store they said they didn’t have any in stock.

Your MFC Online Store Update with just over TWO WEEKS to Xmas!

MFC website says that "deliveries may take 10-14 days", so for those not doing click and collect, this may be your last chance to be unable to order some of the things you wanted this Xmas.

For local folks, don't worry as you've still got plenty of time to be left disappointed.

Of the first eight items that load up when clicking on 'New Arrivals':

1 the 4 polo shirts is completely Out of Stock. 2 of the 4 are only available in Small. The other is Out of Stock in multiple sizes also.

2 of the 3 coats/jackets remain available in most sizes but 1 is unavailable in most sizes.

Thankfully, the club clearly antipated high demand for the Billy Hoodie, which is still in stock.

Kit update:

ADULTS:

H - Available in some sizes
A - You're more likely to be hit by lightning than get this
3rd - Available in 3XL-6XL
Home GK - OOS in all sizes
Away GK - OOS in most sizes
3rd GK - Available in some sizes

KIDS (remembering any child aged 12+ is in an adult size!):

H - OOS in most sizes
A - OOS in most sizes
3rd - OOS
Home GK - OOS
Away GK - OOS in most sizes
3rd GK - Available in some sizes

Merry Christmas!

This doesn't sound right - the club said they were doing an excellent job and everyone was happy - I'm confused, were the club lying?!

I must admit that's really poor availability on a very high profit item that is very important to many younger fans @ Xmas. Not good enough MFC and Errea. I dread to ask the question but is the stock stuck in customs waiting some customs inspection?

We never seemed to run out when the kit was made on Teesside say in 1991 and we were getting decent 18k average crowds. The club would keep Skill up to date with sales and Skill had flexibility to produce more stock at quite short notice.

Ref Forum - There was a bit of discussion on here about the family zone and not been able to get tickets online - question why are online sales still forbidden? It might be useful if a forum member could take ownership of this query?

Just another situation where the forum have asked something and been given an answer and just blindly accepted it. It doesn't affect any of them so it isn't a problem.

Re@ the kits. It's really laughable that they think it is in anyway acceptable that making two bulk purchases, neither of which meet demand, per year is good enough. There are a million warehouses in China that will pump anything you like out. You can get a bespoke kit from them within a week. If Errea was actually the problem, let's be honest they almost definitely aren't, then choose someone capable of delivering multiple orders. There are Chinese warehouses sending out one kit at a time. They would far rather produce thousands of the same item. The less availability there is the more likely someone will buy a fake and once they do, and realise the quality is basically the same but the cost is 15% the price then they'll never buy from the club shop again. You lose 10+ years of regular kit buying for each kid that gets a Chinese knock-off or even worse, you risk them buying another team's kit from Sports Direct and they never become a future season ticket holder losing the club a steady stream of revenue.

With regards to GRFZ I followed this up with a request to Yvonne Ferguson on Friday. She acknowledged the email. Something that maybe we can get an answer on before the next meeting.

I mentioned last week how Sunderland were doing 25% off shirts for Black Friday and had all kits in stock in all sizes.

30% off now for a Xmas sale, with all sizes still available.

You can make jokes about a club being unable to shift their stock, but they're doing things a lot better than we are.

That would appear to be the case, but not sure what MSF can do about it except to continue to express supporters dissatisfaction. Perhaps those who can’t get the kit could also complain individually to the club. I assume there is a channel for this to be done. Maybe involve the local media.

The Evening Gazette?

Son, I'm telling you. The Riverside will be full of people wearing them for the Boxing Day game. It's better than an away shirt, its a Christmas fourth kit. You'll love it!

Me? Well, turns out a couple of the adult sizes were already out of stock within minutes of Boro putting the tweet out. I'm sure the Elves are on their stadium right now to sort out Christmas stock.

(Also hoof ;) )
