Middlesbrough Supporters Forum - Monday

If there are no issues with the safe standing trial, do they plan to extend it to other stands or will it be limited to the South Stand?

More specifically, would it be brought to the North Stand? 🤞🏻

Have they learnt from the current fiasco with the replica kits such that they will be readily available next season? Finally got a shirt ordered for my my eldest but no away mini kits available for 3yo.

Also a relatively minor related gripe - they don't seem to allow printing on the shirts (at least no option I can see online)? When the shirts were first launched they said this was until the squad numbers were finalised. I held off ordering as my Son likes his own name on the back with a number 9. They then went out of stock and are only just back in but i still can't see an option to print his name on. I've bit the bullet and ordered anyway so he has it for Christmas.

It would be good in general if own name printing was available right from launch next season so I don't have to wait until the squad numbers are finalised and the kits may be out of stock again. Can see why they won't let players names be printed in case people kick off if things change but own names should be fine.

Do you mean ordering a shirt online and have it printed? We took our kids shirts into the club shop and they did it there and then.

Must say, the club shop is sh*t, but the staff are great 👍

If the forum wasn’t consulted or even informed about safe standing trials and half season tickets, how do they feel about this? Do they feel like they are essentially wasting their time.

The issues with kits are well documented.

I’m bringing negativity here but it doesn’t really feel like this forum is taken very seriously by the club at all. Let’s be honest. Unless they were consulted about safe standing and half season tickets, of course. In which case I apologise.

Yeah that's what I meant. We live in Newcastle so don't get the chance too often but ill make the trip next time I'm back.

Thank you Sir!

we did know about safe standing trials - a day before it was released on here. But not the specific seats. Which is only right as those affected needed to know direct from the club.

The reason I questioned the person releasing the information was not because I was jealous and wanted to be the ITK but it was because I wasn't sure every person in that zone had been contacted and informed. So, I asked if the news had been released by the club or how he knew.
As it happens he was jumping the gun before the club had contacted everyone and also before they could announce it properly. Does that make sense?

stuff doesn't get passed on properly.. if at all.

it's all subject to your interpretation and how you would like to have it presented.. then when the club responds.. if they do.. then that is coated with a load of bull as well.

FAN: THIS is a good idea
ROB: well I think this would be better.. my little naff spin on it
CLUB: nah that's naff
ROB: the thing was a bad idea and there's no problem or nothing the club can do to improve anyway.

The person from the club in charge of the pilot scheme (that is the official language) is coming to the meeting so will be asked all about it,

What matters would you like to be put forward for debate?

You can view past agendas and minutes here.

PRIORITY POINTS.

Not sure how many times we have to mention it.

The start up points mean its a closed shop. It's absolutely ridiculous. Why hasn't this been addressed, when we've spoken about it for so long?

And can they have someone look at the state of the queues in the North Stand. The length of time it takes to get a drink/food is crazy, and yet there must be about 30 staff 'working' behind the tills.

Not sure if it's the lack of training or what, but it's crazy how slow the queues go down.

It is definitely being monitored - I fully expect it will be changed but not during this season.

It does make sense but I’d seen it on the club’s social media channels before it was mentioned on here. It was announced first thing on Monday 11th November.

My general point is did the club and the forum debate and discuss this trial, or did the news come as a surprise to the forum. Likewise half season tickets. Both things seemed to come out of the blue.

I don't even think it needs a lot of thought on it.

It just needs to be opened up to all new and current season ticket holders who are being affected due to their age...

And if it's starting from next season, then fine, but at least MFC could let us know and update us on the matter.

Sorry I meant THE forum isn’t taken seriously by the club, not this forum. This is obviously the best forum going. I think you get a good mix of ideas and opinions on here. I just wish the club would engage more.

Clubs in our league seem to have realised the financial benefit of having a wide range of food on sale in the ground, but also around the ground outside.

1. Could we look into getting some local providers having pop up stalls outside the ground to add to the choice?
2. Could we have some simple thinks like sausage rolls, street food on sale in the ground? Just to offer more variety and encourage folk to spend their money with the club?

On a different matter that I know you have asked about. The fees for buying tickets are just silly. £3 to buy 2 away tickets is appalling. Their commercial arrangements are clearly robbing them and us blind. It should be sorted out. We have no choice but to buy online and they are profiting from a forced fee model. It's really not on.
