Michael Smith

Birmingham had a bid of £3m turned down for Nisbet in January. We can't afford him now.
He was reccomended and offered to Boro for £252,000 by a well known agent , but the recruitment team decided he was not the right one for us. He had 23 goals 5 assists in 33 games that season.
He then signed for Hibs for £252,000 a month later and this season has 18 goals and 8 assists.
We signed Akpom for £2.7m

we can't let either of those players go, the results without them are awful
Just to expand on this when Tav and Fry both play for at least an hour we are:

Won 10 draw 5 lost 4; 35 points in 19 games

without them:
Won 8, draw 5 and lost 14; just 29 points in 27 games

they are absolutely crucial to us, and we must get them fit and keep them fit to challenge next season

To be fair to Smith its maybe worth reading about what his own fans say rather than ours.

I've read plenty on twitter in meltdown about the reputed 1.2mil bid we've got lined up. The general concensus from people who see him every week is he's worth more (despite year left and 30 in October) and we are having a laugh. In fact most say Wing +1mil.

They seem to love him. The general feeling is he simply run himself into the ground in the final 5 games and had nothing left. A proper 'work horse' who does so much for the team.

I sometimes think the fans view of the selling club is always worth a read. I knew nothing about Morsy and Wigan fans waxed lyrical and its safe to say at 1mil he was a decent signing (another one we missed when crocked)

So at 1mil (ish) I'd have Smith. I'm being positive👍

For £1m and modest wages, he doesn't seem like a terrible buy. Its never just about the fee, its about the whole life total cost of owning the player.

I doubt Rotherham pay much. They said they wouldn't be able to match Wings wages for a perm move.

I imagine he's one of our lowest earners. That says more about our crazy wages😕
