He isn’t a Norwich player!

Yates is decent and valued at £2m by BlackpoolJerry Yates at Blackpool had developed into a decent striker
We won't pay a loan fee again I doubt , and high wages.Personally, I would prefer Jordan Hugill
Yeah totally this. It's when we've shat ourselves over having a bit of money we've screwed the club over. Boring team players like Nugent have been far better for us than statement signings like assombalonga. Leave it to other clubs to sign players for silly money, we should be the one sneaking in afterwards and picking up a bargain. Just made yourself bankrupt? Thanks we'll take viduka. Got relegated? Right we'll have your best player George Friend. Spaffed away the best part of 20 million on a fancy South American who can't get in the team. Thanks we'll take Ramirez. Bought all of the players in England and don't have room for them in your team, fantastic we'll have bamford.I believe Warnock will sign a lot of players this summer for little or no fee (just agents leeches fees) and on short contracts. He will feel he can blend them with the little quality we have, and motivate them to mount a challenge over a season. It is what he has done wherever he has been successful.
If it doesn't lead to promotion, then he will leave, but crucially leave the club with just talented players under contract like Fry, Tavernier, Dijksteel, Bola, Watmore and the better youngsters; allowing a longer term manager to sign the players he wants without the detritus he (and Woodgate) inherited from Monk and pulis and could do nothing about.
We could soon be rid of ALL the Monk/pulis utter tripe. That has been our problem: hideously over paying and overpaying for players we can then not move, and who are just journeymen with attitude.
If Warnock is to stay this last season then I'm sure the plan will be one that looks short term like above, but actually isn't.
He will sign players this summer that will perhaps not excite on paper, but might collectively do so on grass, where it matters.
Given the club is financially crippled and loses money every season in this league, what do people expect?
Me neither if I'm honest, but I'm notvsure there'll by much cash to splash this summer.we don't need to, but this lads best season is 12 in League One, that's despite playing nearly every game. If he comes in as 1 of 3 forwards then you are talking maybe no more than 20 starts and 4 or 5 goals. Not that goals are the only stat we need, I'm just not impressed by his technical ability from what I've seen
Birmingham had a bid of £3m turned down for Nisbet in January. We can't afford him now.Kevin Nisbet at Hibs is a young lad who is attracting a lot of interest from numerous clubs including Brentford, this is a realistic signing for us and someone who could potentially go on to be very valuable, a strike force of him and famara diedhiou would be a significant upgrade on Assombalonga and Fletcher.
The Scottish league is mid table league one standard.Birmingham had a bid of £3m turned down for Nisbet in January. We can't afford him now.
He was reccomended and offered to Boro for £252,000 by a well known agent , but the recruitment team decided he was not the right one for us. He had 23 goals 5 assists in 33 games that season.
He then signed for Hibs for £252,000 a month later and this season has 18 goals and 8 assists.
We signed Akpom for £2.7m
It absolutely is and I do think sides have to be careful with it but equally promising talents can still be plucked from it, e.g Tierney, Personally think Boro are missing out by not buying into analytics-based recruitment if I'm honest, would help us pinpoint targets and gradually progress. Better than just taking a punt at whoever the flavour of the month happens to be.The Scottish league is mid table league one standard.
Agree. I imagine a decent bid (10mil+) for Tav or Fry will really test us.I just cant see any club at Championship level or below (barring Prem relegated sides) spending a single penny net wise this window, unless they generate funds from sales to top flight sides.
Our accounts were horrendous and it just covered the start of COVID. Our next ones will cover a full 12 months with no income whatsoever. I think this summer will be a huge reality check for some with what is spent.
we can't let either of those players go, the results without them are awfulAgree. I imagine a decent bid (10mil+) for Tav or Fry will really test us.
The player will be worth more but prem clubs know that clubs in the EFL need money. I am sure they will be looking to get champo talent at bargain prices.
Then again I guess in theory league 1 and 2 'top' talent is available on the cheap.
We could possibly bring in 6-9 players for under 2-3 million. This is a very much the type of budget Mogga had when he came in (arguably less).
