Mexican GP

Great defensive drive by Lewis. Looked very downtrodden there at the end. Which is understandable. Another mature drive by Max and Red Bull as a whole.

Brazil can throw up all sorts of surprises, especially if the weather turns which it has a habit of doing.
I think Mercedes are relying on a Max DNF now for both the drivers championship and the constructors.

I don't know about that JM. At a track like that you get in front after turn one, no DRS for 2 laps and in 2nd place you're running in dirty air. It makes it a completely different race.
Yeah Max clearly had the pace but being surrounded by mercs would have made everything much more stressed. I still think he would have done it but with bottas and ham in front after the first lap it would have been a challenge

Btw, the sky commentary team footwear, is there a sponsorship deal going on here. If you didn’t notice today keep your eyes open next week

That race (among many) shows why Botas was never up for the job at Merc. Nice guy but no good under pressure and drifts into going around and around without having any effect on the race before and after a poor pit stop by Merc.

With that pace they could just under/overcut with ease. Only a lucky safety car would have given the result to merc

In hindsight if Red Bull hadn't have cocked up qualifying yesterday Mercedes would have been better off taking the engine penalty for today's race.
Probably not the track to do it, with the altitude cars cant really follow without overheating so overtaking was almost impossible. Just look at how long it took Riccardo and Bottas to get past much slower cars
