I think you're right. RB have the pace to just control this. ShameThink that’s race over unfortunately

He's done that a few times this year. When he needs to be aggressive against Max he's just let him cruise past.So poor from Bottas at the start, basically gave max the racing line
Can you explain to me what you did mean then by suggesting he didn't like him because of the colour of his skin?I actually didn't say that if you had read it.
Yeah that RB is significantly faster now, shame it looked like it would be a good raceI think you're right. RB have the pace to just control this. Shame
Even if they are going to the end they are already a pit stop behindWonder if Ricciardo and Bottas are going for an effective no stopper?
Yeah, both Whinger Spice and Max said their only issue in qualy was red tyres. Which won't come in to play here.Yeah that RB is significantly faster now, shame it looked like it would be a good race
Good question. As you know I'm an EV advocate. I just can't get away with ev motorsports. Here's a question that occurred to me today whilst making coffee. Given we are trying to save the planet does petrol engined f1 have any future, given e-formula is around now?
I don't really like f1, it's and engineering exercise, but interested to hear peoples thoughts.
Smalltown is right in what he says regarding the noise, smell, etc. I love the Speedway and the smell takes me back to watching The Tigers.Good question. As you know I'm an EV advocate. I just can't get away with ev motorsports.
For someone who spent many a long summer at Croft motor racing is a visceral thing. It's not so much about the competition but the experience at a track. The noise, the vibrations, and the smells are all part of what captivates me. I know this is an old fashioned view but it's just the way it is. I went to a formula e race in battersea and it left me cold.
To answer your question though, I do think formula e will evolve into the principle motorsports. Its just not for me
I was thinking that. F1 claims to be carbon neutral but I don't see how it can be. The cars a 1.5l hybrids and the most efficient petrol engines a car has had so its not so much the racing. Its carting all that stuff all over the globe as you sayInteresting viewpoint ST. First up, I did a couple of projects for Toyota as they were re-entering F1 about 15 years ago. The F1 experience improved their cars, but the improvements were not engine related, most of the advances were handling and predominantly safety.
The second thing I was thinking about this morning, is how much crap does F1 put into the atmosphere with a 5 continent calendar, testing and race days. I have no idea whether its a drop in the ocean or significant.
Great point, you could even take that further, I suppose, though would we want to go to a every 8 year world cup and euro's.Smalltown is right in what he says regarding the noise, smell, etc. I love the Speedway and the smell takes me back to watching The Tigers.
Regarding our carbon footprint though, I think all sport will need to evolve to lower their output. Biennial world cups should be scrapped for a start but this isn't a discussion for this thread.
Even ignoring the global travel, I am not sure I buy the carbon nuetrality of the cars themselves.I was thinking that. F1 claims to be carbon neutral but I don't see how it can be. Yeah I remember that one, I think it was an M3 but yeah the point still stands, an engine at low revs pootling round is more efficient than an engine at full chatEven ignoring the global travel, I am not sure I buy the carbon nuetrality of the cars themselves.
I remember top gear, that world renowned science programme, doing an article with a prius following an A4 RS round the track. The prius used more fuel than the audi.
