Men's Suits

My youngest son is getting married in August and I want to buy a decent suit for the day. I have a few suits of half decent quality but these have usually been purchased from M&S or shops that no longer exist. I only ever wear suits for funerals or the odd family wedding but feel I need to push the boat out here.

Any ideas for good quality suit makers?

P.S. I would not feel comfortable hiring a suit.

First you need to decide if you;re going to go for made to measure, of bespoke (assuming you've discounted off the peg?)

If you dont mind a trip down to Hull and splashing out on bespoke then these guys have some good words said about them.

Obviously you have your traditional tailors in London on Saville Row, but you're talking £4k plus for something there.

What budget are you looking at ?

I haven't considered my budget but would be willing to pay for a bespoke/tailored made suit.

House of Cavani at Dalton Park do some nice suits, I got a lovely contrast 3 piece from there and got loads of comments on it at the last wedding I was at. I wear the blazer for smart/casual and mix it with some chinos so it’s not just gathering dust in a wardrobe.

Last funeral I went to I discovered my suits were now way too big for me as I'd lost so much weight. I nearly bought a BOSS suit for a grand or more but thought I might never wear it again so I bought top of the range suit at M&S and took it back for a refund (and got it) after the service.....

Has anyone ever attended a beach wedding abroad in the ☀️? Not sure what to wear for that one? Shorts or trousers, shirt or polo, shoes or flip flops, absolute minefield!
