Mel Morris

I don’t, odious lot. Smug about getting away with cheating for years. It’s all coming home to roost. Lovely. Hope they end up in non league.

Steve Gibson must be wearing a wry smile while surveying their downfall.
DCFC fans could not see the house of cards that their club had become under Mel Morris. Angry at everyone, even including the person responsible- eventually. They are like Leeds - Relegation on the cards hopefully.

Who would want to even sign for Derby? Chairman wants out and the clubs up for sale. A manager who's on his last warning and a squad that's destined for a relegation battle.

I read today that they are signing Ravel Morrison. Jesus.... They must be short😕

I find it hard to have any sympathy the DCFC fans I know were really lording it up when they were about to become the "richest club in the world" during Novembers fake sheik takeover.
The owners have been too clever for their own good and took the approach that the rules applied to other teams not them. I shall view them as an interesting sideshow this season.

I'm not sure how any football supporter can take pleasure in the issues at Derby. The fans didn't have anything to do with the creative accounting and can only be guilty of attempting to defend their club. I think Morris gambled hoping to achieve promotion and the millions that come with a PL season or two.

Trying to defend the indefensible. The rest of the football world knew that Morris was gambling the clubs future and the fans were happy to be aboard, lambasting all who criticised their clubs illicit dealings. Fact is that the majority of them didn't care they were cheating, as long as they were pushing for promotion and were getting away with their dodgy dealings.
The club is reaping what it sowed.

The fans were fully behind it at the time and thought it was hilarious when Gibson questioned it. https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/36151-gibson-at-it-again/#comments

Just like on this messageboard there will be those who were good with it, those who were against it and probably those who couldn't give a toss either way.

Look at the debate on here when I dared to question Warnock, some people agreed with me even if the majority did not.

What it shows is that "the fans" is just a lazy way of saying some people on a messageboard rather than the whole fan base.

Twitter was the same at the time as well. Talksport did a puff piece interview with Mel Morris on the Jim White show and there fans were ringing in after with support.
Some fans may have questioned it I didn’t see or hear it.
I have heard fans question Warnock. He needs the team to perform as well on the pitch as he does in his interviews this season.

I'd hazard a guess that the more sensible level headed fans, those who may question creative accounting practices, would not be the sort ringing in to Talksport.....

Surely administration is just a matter of time.
Why would that be? If Morris wants to sell the club then he'll avoid administration at all costs. And with all that money sloshing around from the sale of the stadium, I'd imagine they've got plenty of cash.

Although the fans don't deserve it, I would be quite happy to see them rot and be relegated after their cheating.

The fans don't deserve to be going through the mill at the moment, but Mel Morris certainly does.

Hopefully they go down to league 1 where they deserve to be.

Not sure who would want to buy a club with a load of debt, no assets real or imagined, and no short term prospects?

I could see someone buying the club with a clean slate, but that would require either Morris to eat all the current debt, which I think is highly unlikely, or the club goes into administration to sort out the debt, but lands then with FA/EFL repercussions and points deductions etc, making the club an even worse prospect for new buyers.
