McNair

Dogshit atm.

Was the first name on the team sheet only a few years ago, can’t seem to do anything right unfortunately
 
Poor old McNair. Had two dodgy moments all game and got punished for one of them. Just can't catch a break lately can he?

I say this every week at the moment but I wish we'd give Dijksteel a turn. He was so good at CB under Wilder and Warnock. Admittedly usually in a 3 but so what. Worth a try surely.

I don’t agree, he should have dealt with that situation. He creates the issues himself by constantly turning away from play and therefore blinding himself from the threats.

He single handedly applies a lot of pressure to our team. Fry isn’t great on the deck, but is a very good defender, which McNair is not.
 
Good stuff in second half defensively and in general he is ok but he makes us less fluid as a team in possession for me.

Receives the ball and then proceeds to turn his back to the play almost instantly and inevitably ends up back at Steffen.

For me he doesn't suit how Carrick wants us to play and he puts us on the back foot. When that ball comes into him there's often a midfielder in between the lines of two opposition players showing.

That's the forward pass that sets us on our way.
.the pass to him draws them out and if he then plays that forward pass our midfielders have the time and space to drive the team forward.

He almost never plays that pass, so for me his weakest point in this team is when he is in possession of the ball.
 
A mistake for their goal but otherwise a good performance.

And you could argue that Lenihan's ball was the wrong choice, back to Steffen and it's no goal.

Totally agree, every player can be suspect to an error or two in the game but paddy made some excellent tackles and interceptions, well done few things he needs to work on but he is still an important player for us and a good champo player !
