I'm not sure why it's hard to understand. He does great for county but I've never thought he would be able to do anything at boro.
Clearly a local lad scoring for fun at County the main thing you're thinking is 'could he cut it'. But despite him scoring for county I've never thought he could step up.
Would love it if he could but I'd be surprised

Well what was hard to understand is you firstly saying he has never impressed you when you have seen him playing for County, then saying he has been great for County.

If you think he has been great then he has obviously impressed you. But you have now clarified that you mean you don't think he would be any good in the championship.
Fair enough.
 
Gibson’s comment on Stockton was meant to inflate the sense of our achievements in Europe. “We’re just a small town Europe” etc. d*ck move by Gibson.
In my experience growing up in Stockton who’s parents had a business in Middlesbrough, there’s very little to no difference in the profile of teams supported in Stockton and Middlesbrough.
 
I have seen him play for County and he didn't strike me as a player that should be playing at a higher level. But what do I know 🤷‍♂️

I’d be surprised if we’re signing a 27 yr old 4 th div player for 7 figures . Too old for our model unless he had a record playing in the top leagues

Notts County usually have around 20 shots on goal each game, most of them from inside the box so it's not surprising he scores so many goals.

Boro are lucky to get 4 or 5 decent balls into the box all game, the Championship is a much tougher league than L1 or 2, Langstaff would likely be feeding on scraps half the time.

To be honest that's all we need. We've got plenty of players that are creative in the final third...we just need a finisher

I think he'll end up at Birmingham (Mowbray using his Teesside charm) or a Derby/Barnsley/Bolton, a big club who is doing well in L1. I really want us to sign him, his record is great and he'd die for three points for us, i've seen so many strikers here who are crap and just mercenaries who don't give a toss, smiling awkwardly when they miss a chance and it doesnt sit right with me and this lad has the ability to finish chances that we create, and we create a lot.
