Slaven probably ' wouldn't have impressed ' in the modern game .. but being a goal scorer is a thing.

He's, IMHO , worth a punt so to speak.
Take him on loan till the end of they season with a guarantee to buy if we're happy.
He'll break his back to get the contract.
He could be billy sharp for three years, and we desperately could do with a fox in the box finisher... Even off the bench.

I'm not so sure.
There was more to Slaven's game than goalscoring. I think his workrate and linking with midfield were also very good.
He would often pick the ball up in midfield, spread it wide then be at the end of the move to finish it off. If he hadn't gone too early and was offside of course
Maybe not good enough for the prem but I'd love him in our current squad. Although he would probably have fallen out with Carrick by now.

Watching his youtube he is a bit Jordan Rhodes like. No great pace but knows where the goal is. I suppose it comes down to who is available as we do need a striker IMO. Josh has a groin problem we are having to manage, so will likely have it for the rest of the season. He needs protecting. Lath cant seem to get a run in the team due to injury and forss is just back from a long spell out. Ive just watched Archers goals for us last year and bar the Hull one, where his pace took him past the defender, Langstaff has scored similar goals for Notts County. I was pretty meh about him but if he is £1.5m then he may be cheaper than a premiership loan. I also cant think of who else we may be in for. 80 goals in 2.5 seasons is some going.

Fair enough. What makes you think he can't do it in the Championship? All I've seen are his stats and they suggest he is worth a punt. What have you seen beyond those?
