Martin Tyler leaving Sky Sports.

Legendary figure of broadcasting. But yeah, his passion and enthusiasm seems to have gone.

Time to freshen it up. Or bring in Peter Drury.

Peter Drury commentary for the World Cup final was great, he'd be a really good replacement, though apparently he's been at NBC since 2022.

He has been excellent over the years but the half hearted way he say and it's live before every game is not good

Seems to have been around forever. Big changes at Sky with him and Jeff Stelling both leaving.

The way Sky have replaced the Soccer Saturday pundits, expect Jamie Mackie or Anton Ferdinand to be in with a shout.........😬😬

Bit concerned that the Daily Mail are spinning it as part of cost cutting measures, rather than it just being sensible decision to replace him with somebody younger and better.
Doesn't bode too well for a quality replacement if they're slashing their budget.

I know they're not the best of sources, but still.

Been there a very long time, still surprises me when you watch old Premier League Years and he’s commentating on games.

I wouldn’t usually notice his lack of enthusiasm during the game but then you watch the clips back that get thrown around on twitter/tiktok and it becomes obvious.

The guy who does tiktok videos reacting to his commentary will be gutted.

I’ve always hated the “AND IT’S LIVE” thing anyway. He was a decent commentator in the past but I won’t lose sleep over this and hopefully won’t have to hear that catchphrase again.

I mean imagine it wasn’t live, we wouldn’t be watching it would we!

I have always liked his commentary, of course his age and health issues catches up, he was a true professional and doesn’t deserve some of the comments made on here. I bet most of his critics couldn’t do half as well at half his age.

He is right up there with some of the best in my lifetime.

Hopefully Bill Leslie gets more games with Tyler leaving, I think he's a great commentator.

The new fella they brought in last season, Seb Hutchinson, is absolutely dire, but no doubt we'll be hearing more of him.

Almost as bad as the BBC's "More live games than anyone else!". Just a shame that there's no pictures.
