Martin Tyler leaving Sky Sports.

I think I'm in the minority because whenever this topic is discussed I say that I prefer commentators that you don't notice are really there. They are there to say what is happening, they aren't supposed to be the centre of attention. I've never minded Tyler but that's why I always disliked Tyldesley and Motson. They spend the whole game making it about them and trying to create catchphrases.

In fact, the only commentator that I'm really positive about is/was Ali Brownlee but I know that wouldn't work as a neutral commentator. That's just Boro nostalgia.

Is it just me who doesn't take that much notice of commentators?

Co-commentators/pundits can get me a bit narked, but find the actual commentators a bit of background noise.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Liverpool fans in particular always seem to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder about Martin Tyler and supposed bias against them, despite the fact he has famously gone absolutely mental for so many of their goals over the years.
