Marijuana - legalise it?

No chance it’s a gateway drug for harder drugs further down the line.

Won’t happen for some but most people with drug issue started on weed.
A large part of that is because people buy illegally from a drug dealer who does a bit of upselling. Like when you go to McDonald's for a Big Mac and you end up with a large meal and 20 nuggets.

I don’t buy the gateway drug as a main argument.

Yes. Some people may start on weed and go onto harder things but I know a lot people who haven’t and don’t.

When you look at people who get onto harder drugs. I’m sure there’ll be many other factors which also result in that happening. Poverty, Deprivation, Mental health issues etc.

Alcohol is also a drug. I’m sure many drug addicts probably started drinking before they moved onto weed or harder drugs. Perhaps we should ban that too?

Years gone by I’ve smoked, but not in 2-3 years now. I stopped enjoying it so much and the effects just weren’t worth it in the end for me. I became really lazy with it but it’s different for everyone.

Each to their own though, I’d be happy to Legalise it.

What real harm does it do? Of those who insist on it being criminalised, I wonder how many have actually tried it?
It is an insanity to have alcohol freely available and encouraged and yet a bit of weed can get you arrested.
Same with mushies.
It does plenty of harm and causes or exacerbates mental health issues for many users. My wifes a mental health nurse and she seen many patients with psychosis brought on by heavy canabis use particularly if they have taken it from teenager years.

Also a real good mate of mine took all sorts of class A substances recreationally for years but none of those had the long lasting negative impact on his mental health as taking skunk on a regular basis.

The idea that its harmless is completely wrong and dangerous
