Agree classy, with a brain dont make em like bernie anymore. Also a decent footballer though, he could pass the ball well enough.

Does it worry u we play an essentially outdated 2 upfront. If wilder doesnt get the right players it leaves us hamstrung. He style requires particular players and we seem to be struggling to get players over the line.I do think the fact we're going to play with 2 up front should give us more options in terms of striker targets. Most teams are looking for strikers who can play up front on their own. Not essential for us and it might be we can unlock the potential of someone like this guy who is possibly overlooked by most, because of our style.
(Obviously we're Boro and this is strikers we're talking about, so won't happen. But I think the theory is sound).
Anti NeimiHe’s no finish, he’s only 28.
I don't know if it's that outdated. It might be a rarity compared to most, but I don't think it's unique or particularly outdated. Karanka pretty much played 2 up front when we had Bamford and Vossen (Vossen might have played a bit deeper, but he certainly wasn't playing in midfield). Depends how you play it really.Does it worry u we play an essentially outdated 2 upfront. If wilder doesnt get the right players it leaves us hamstrung. The lad from wolves is massively important he needs to deliver this season for us.
Have you honestly just claimed the Bernie Slaven is a better all round striker than Alen Boksic, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Mark Viduka, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Yakubu, Alvaro Negredo…bernie slaven would be worth 40 million these days. Best all round striker weve ever had. Left foot, right foot, head, volley, bend em in and most importantly tap in
This guy sounds a bit like sporar. Hopefully has a bit more to his game.
Anything that isn't "the norm" can have big positives and negatives. You could argue that defenders are used to playing against 1 striker so having 2 means they aren't sure how to defend against them.Does it worry u we play an essentially outdated 2 upfront. we had a youth player who went on to play for the national team, still only 24 as well - Mikael SoisaloHave we ever had a Fin at the Boro? Can't recall one
Former Hull City loan striker set to finalise move to Middlesbrough FC from Brentford
MIDDLESBROUGH are poised to complete a deal to sign former Hull City loan striker Marcus Forss from Brentford - to secure a much-needed fresh option in the final third.www.yorkshirepost.co.uk
I was thinking(wishing) the same thing. I'm sure Pukki scoring record wasn't great until he was in his mid 20s, this lad has only just turned 23, so hopefully in the right system he might finally be a star striker for us.Could he be our Pukki?
Or Mikkel BeckCould he be our Pukki?
I wouldn't be completely against signing him if he's going to be 3rd/4th/5th choice.
The fact that he made 39 appearances in a season for Brentford a few years back tells me that he must have offered them something, otherwise he wouldn't have made that many appearances. It was the same season they got promoted as well.
