Manager Or Chairmen

Just putting this out there love Gibbo who is at fault,

All the doom mongers are now wanting wilders head on as stick ,my question is we were desperate for a proven goal scorer in my opinion ,linked with a few that we wouldn't pay the desired fee for.We have Muniz who looks class but not getting the service and in reality nothing else so did he have the money we all believed he was going to spend ?

The midfield for me is one paced all similar players not bad players just no pace and don,t offer a great deal going forward ,Jones looks nothing like the flashes of brilliance from a few games last season we were building a team around his service for me we let the better player go in Tavernier i know he didn't want to stay we should have done more to keep him at the club.

Sacking Wilder is not the answer in my opinion but i do not see us making the play offs due to a lack off goals scored the defence will sort itself out it will be too many draws and not enough goals that will cost us.

This club is being run so badly in recent years, replacing the manager will achieve nothing. He has been left very short after the transfer window and had to sell our best player without any replacement, bringing in a new manager won’t change that

Depends what you define as 'run so badly'. Are we financially sound? Yes. Are we in danger of going bust? No. I'd say we are a well run club.

Just because the results on the pitch don't match your expectations it does not mean that Gibson is failing.

I agree with the above. The club is being run so badly, and has been for some time. I think Bauser has to go, and I'm not convinced at all by Scott either.

Gibson is a strange one, cos its arguable that there wouldn't be a Middlesbrough Football Club as we know it without him, however that should not make him immune to criticism. The bad decisions he has made over the years far outweigh the good decisions he has made, and he has got an continues to get things wrong. A massive issue however is that he is clearly no longer in the position to back the club how he would like financially, so I would think that the best way forward would be for him to seek investment from the outside, however from somebody who doesn't want control of the club.

The ideal scenario is Gibson still being chairman however outside investment being sought, and then appointing somebody in the Txiki Begiristain mould at Manchester City who runs the entire football operation, somebody Gibson trusts entirely to run the club without his interference. That way you get the continuity from manager to manager that we badly lack.

We aren’t financially sound, for years we have relied on Gibson to keep the club afloat. Regardless of what happens on the pitch, that’s not a club that’s well run

Add to that the money wasted in recent years plus going from a position of strength in the premier league to a mid table championship side in 5 years, and a huge turnover of managers and players. We really aren’t well run

Manager /tactics /recruitment, backroom/owner, all must be at fault.
We just can't seem to get it right

It can’t just be a coincidence that the last 5 managers have been poor, fairly clear the problems run far deeper

You don't even know what they do, or the restrictions they work under. You're not the only one who says it, but it's the height of stupidity. For all you know they're absolutely world class at getting players in, but can only p*** with the c**k they've got.

Gibbo may have decided not to put £1m a month in any more which would be his prerogative, and decided the club will be where they are by funding itself. Who knows? Not you or me.

Something wrong within the club, has to be
Sorry, no there doesn't have to be anything wrong in the club.

What fans perennially ignore is the simple fact that all the other clubs in our division are trying their absolute hardest to recruit the best players, the best managers, have the best recruitment team, best medical team, best coaches, etc., etc. No one can guarantee that we will be at the top of the pile. Well, there is one way... and that is to be taken over by someone with a bottomless pit of money and boundless enthusiasm for our club and area. Money is as close as you can possibly get to guaranteeing a place at the top table. We don't have a bottomless pit of money so we try various multipliers to try to maximise the performance of what we have got and what we can afford.

We are nowhere near the end of the "Wilder Experiment", let's see how it goes.

Good and valid points Muttley it's just the disappointment talking, failed ebd of transfer window, poor results, time after time we get talked up and let down.
Your points are well thought and constructed, thank you

I presume then you aren't happy with the financial model that Gibson has adopted and would like him to sell?

Where did I say I wanted him to sell?

Of course I’m not happy with how our finances are managed, it’s hardly sustainable for an owner to keep having to put his own money into the club to keep it afloat

Gibbo has financially supported the club for years, but this Summer the Club is in surplus by at least £14.5m on transfer fees - seems a big surplus to me. or could be £10m more with add ons.

Its hard to take that much out of the squad and not have any impact.

So what's the solution?
