Really good game, but the ref has dropped a right bóllock not playing advantage when Grealish was through on goal in added time.
Wasn’t he offside? I thought that’s why the referee brought it back.Really good game, but the ref has dropped a right bóllock not playing advantage when Grealish was through on goal in added time.
Looked it to me.Wasn’t he offside? I thought that’s why the referee brought it back.
How do players get away with that - Haaland aggressively said **** off at least 4-5 times visible on the tele. To be honest the league should grow a pair and make an example of him.Ref made an honest mistake didnt think grealish was through - he should have sent haaland off for the abuse he was giving him.
All the players made mistakes!
Well even if it was a mistake, it’ll be him getting all the grief until Tuesday night when the next set of fixtures start - and that’s despite the wastefulness of Haaland and the general complacency that set in at 2-1 and 3-2. That’s what cost them, not the referee.Ref made an honest mistake didnt think grealish was through - he should have sent haaland off for the abuse he was giving him.

I would agree, I don’t think it’s as clear cut as they’re making it sound - the narrative will be that Grealish was ‘clean through’ but it was nothing like it. He was 45 yards out with a defender and a bouncing ball.I don't think Grealish would have made it to the 18 yard box to be honest.

Different rules for fouls and offsides - you can argue that we switch to rugby rules, but think most would be against that. But they play on now when they are 5 yards offside
So absolutely ridiculous to stop the game there
Shocking refereeing
If the ref shouted advantage, what's wrong with waiting 30 seconds to see if an advantage occurs before bringing the play back if it doesn't? Refs are put too much on the spot by having half a second to judge whether there's an advantage or not. It’s crap decisions like that which make it very difficult to like referees. It’s an exceptionally difficult job, but there’s no excuse for that. Play advantage or don’t, but don’t change your mind when a player is through one on one to win the game.
I agree, in football we are too quick to see whether an advantage materialises. 30 seconds is too long but even 10 seconds would be a big improvement. They currently give it about 3-5If the ref shouted advantage, what's wrong with waiting 30 seconds to see if an advantage occurs before bringing the play back if it doesn't?
