Man City Vs Spurs

It’s crap decisions like that which make it very difficult to like referees. It’s an exceptionally difficult job, but there’s no excuse for that. Play advantage or don’t, but don’t change your mind when a player is through one on one to win the game.

Ref made an honest mistake didnt think grealish was through - he should have sent haaland off for the abuse he was giving him.

All the players made mistakes!
Well even if it was a mistake, it’ll be him getting all the grief until Tuesday night when the next set of fixtures start - and that’s despite the wastefulness of Haaland and the general complacency that set in at 2-1 and 3-2. That’s what cost them, not the referee.

Looked like he could have been offside to me so the ref brought it back but looking at the reaction of the City players the ref can’t have given a reasonable explanation.

I’m sure they respectfully gave him the opportunity.

Poor Haarland was really upset at the end. Let his hair down really aggressively, so that will show em. Or he wants a shampoo sponsor. Not sure.

If the ref shouted advantage, what's wrong with waiting 30 seconds to see if an advantage occurs before bringing the play back if it doesn't? Refs are put too much on the spot by having half a second to judge whether there's an advantage or not.

Was definitely onside.
Horrendous decision. He was already playing advantage, why wouldn't he wait and see how that ball landed before blowing his whistle? I'm not sure Grealish has the pace to capitalise bit that is irrelevant. It was a really really poor decision.

That said, the way the City players reacted was disgraceful and wasn't dealt with. (More poor refereeing, i dare say he knew he'd dropped a bollocl and sympathised to an extent). This sort of behaviour happens week in, week out as it isn't dealt with and there's no wonder we see issues at grass roots level when this is what kids are watching from the pros.

I agree, in football we are too quick to see whether an advantage materialises. 30 seconds is too long but even 10 seconds would be a big improvement. They currently give it about 3-5
