Yes I remember Warnock initially saying he was pursuing other targets and when he did arrive he said he was not going to play every game which seemed odd. Little did we know how little he would actually play.

Some players like Fletcher get perceived by many as somewhat better than they actually are the longer they are out of the team but Roberts has not been afforded the same luxury.

When Roberts HAS played like in the cup game he hasn't shown any reason to keep his place. Other players have taken their chance like Hayden Hackney. Roberts did nothing. Not sure he believes he is stopping. Regardless he needs to put himself forward and anonymous displays like that will do nothing for his career.

Yep exactly. He just hasn't done enough. Bamford went around 6 or 7 clubs before he 'made it'. Sometimes players just aren't good enough and then sometimes they just need to find the right team, manager or formation. Also Harrison, from a Boro/Leeds thing

I don't really miss Bamford. I miss having a quality centre forward and Boro haven't had that in decades!
 
Think this is one we will really regret, can see him being a huge success at this level once he gets a run of games. Showed last season he can be brilliant if he is given time but I dont think we saw even 50% of what he is capable of whilst he was here
 
I think Robert’s simply doesn’t fit in with Warnock’s plans anymore. If Warnock needed that loan space he would let Robert’s go but we will never fill all the available loan spaces so easier to keep Robert’s just in case.
 
Was amazed we signed him as Warnock didn’t seem that keen last season, however once he was on the books I’m surprised we have not used him more, the signing of Watmore has pushed him further down the pecking order and his place on the bench is potentially holding back the development of one of our youngsters
