Mackems mocking our attendance

I think there’s only Boro out if the northeast top 3 that has teams around them with pools and darlo . Top that off with Boro being a smaller population we’re way superior 👍😉

Not really as their catchment area is huge it’s a one county team as County Durham supports them so no not surprised at all.

but like I say I’m not interested in lower league football
Thick Mackems just don't get it, their overall catchment area is so much bigger than ours. More people, equals bigger crowds ie Leeds is the same.
Equally it works the other way aswell

I couldn't care less. The ground is probably 5-6k to big when you look at other new build champo grounds. It was built in a period that we will probably never see again.

The Riverside being a 25-26k all seater would be a far better place in terms of atmosphere. I doubt we will ever fill it again.

The thing with Boro is that our 'hardcore' is probably 18-22k. The rest will come and go with performances and who we play.

Sunderland is a bigger catchment area and have better ticket deals (especially for kids). They also fliuxuate by as much as 20k depending on how they do. We've all been to Sunderland 2 thirds full moaning as to why we didn't get more tickets.

I hate this 'Leeds would take more' or 'look at that clubs attenendace'..... Who cares? Man UTD sellout every week but the majority ain't local. That annoys me more😂

Old Boro would of stayed at Ayresome park or built a 20-25k stadium .

I’m glad we went for bigger capacity our turnover at the time means it’s paid for . Can you imagine the cost of adding 7k to ground now compared to in the passed ?

Who knows what around the corner , in old days most grounds had tens of thousands more in . How many would we get in the ground if it was £10-15 a ticket if you ignore the current capacity?

In hindsight, we shouldn't have increased the stadium from its original capacity of 29k. We averaged 34k those two seasons following the expansion but we were never going to be able to sustain that.

Even in our last Premier League season we only managed to average 31k, and if we had survived I reckon that would have dropped down to 28/29k the following season, as the novelty of being back in the Premier League would have started to wear off.

I always find it funny that it's really hard to find their results on the Internet cos noone gives a shyte about league 1. And the match reports have a couple of paragraphs. And also on Quest they get about 10 seconds of Colin Murray waffle if they're lucky.

It's where we'd be if not for Warnock mind.

sunderland fans are the worst culprits at this and their supposedly superiority complex . Do they laugh at brentfords attendances or bournemouths or hull and blackpools last season?, I bet all of them would rather be where they are right now. 99% of boro fans dont profess we are a massive club.

Do they still charge about a fiver a ticket? If they’d had our pricing structure in recent years, there’s no chance they’d be pulling 20k never mind 30k!

To be fair, I always associate this sort of ***** with the Mackems and Leeds. However I’ve seen loads of cringey stuff online from boro fans through the week taunting Fulham fans about how superior our support is. Leave this nonsense to the Mackems, it’s literally all they have left to cling on to!
Yeah some of our fan base have really embarrassed themselves this week, sound like a child bragging that your club takes more away fans than another club did. Why does anyone care?

Probably should show those in charge at Boro where they are going wrong. As badly as Sunderland have been ran they make football far more accessible for their supporters than we ever do

Ah don’t get me wrong, I absolutely agree with that!

Was more pointing out that, for those sad enough to argue/debate these things, pricing is a factor that should be considered.

I didn't think they were still going tbf.

Clearly attendances don't get you points do they if you look where they are. In fact you could argue they have squandered more money from all the bigger attendances they bang on about, surely a negative isnt it?

Not sure why they struggle to comprehend they have more fans than us, bigger area and historically a bigger club. We are in the top 20 historically for attendances and overall league record, pretty good for a town our size I'd say.

Remember years ago there was an article about crowd numbers to population in England. Ipswich were top, Boro were second. Wonder if this has changed?
