Mackems mocking our attendance

They wouldn't be selling anywhere near their number of tickets if they were priced closer to ours. I'm sure our season tickets are 3rd or 4th highest priced in the championship. If we reduced our prices we'd sell far more, hence why we always do well when we have an offer on!

They seem to have be obsessed with attendances, especially for a club that say they "don't care about us".

Again, I'm not criticising Sunderland the club for it, as their pricing is fantastic compared to ours.

But on top of the much bigger catchment area, currently their cheapest adult season ticket is £360, ours is £530.

Funny the don't mock Newcastle's attendances, might be the fact that they're always bigger than theirs
Or Bournemouths, given that they don't care about us & we're just another club to em, or is that they feel some sort of superior complex been in the third tier for the 3rd season running & need to try & show theyre a big clubish 😁😆😅😂🤣

It's one of the reasons they mock ours and try to belittle us.

It's because they know deep down Newcastle are a bigger club, and that riles them, so they mock us to make themselves feel better about their own club basically. The reality is, they're not much bigger than us as a club and they know it.

I don't like them but in fairness there can be no doubting Newcastle are the true "big club" of the North-East.

Newcastle and Sunderland share a catchment area of 2m plus.
Bearing that in mind, can they really feel superior to small town clubs, like Burnley for example?

I couldn't care less. The ground is probably 5-6k to big when you look at other new build champo grounds. It was built in a period that we will probably never see again.

The Riverside being a 25-26k all seater would be a far better place in terms of atmosphere. I doubt we will ever fill it again.

The thing with Boro is that our 'hardcore' is probably 18-22k. The rest will come and go with performances and who we play.

Sunderland is a bigger catchment area and have better ticket deals (especially for kids). They also fliuxuate by as much as 20k depending on how they do. We've all been to Sunderland 2 thirds full moaning as to why we didn't get more tickets.

I hate this 'Leeds would take more' or 'look at that clubs attenendace'..... Who cares? Man UTD sellout every week but the majority ain't local. That annoys me more😂

I think the size of the Riverside is about right. When we're in the mix for promotion at the end of a season we always come close to filling it and we can fill it for big games against Premiership teams. It didn't feel empty at 22,000 atmosphere-wise yesterday either.

I am pleased that the mackems see our crowd as the benchmark of success.
I see success as something different but who am I to argue.
If success for them is getting more people into the stadium than the local club in the league above them then good luck to them I say.
Imagine how ecstatic they will be in a few seasons when they are playing in a league below Hartlepool.
😁

Congratulations Sunderland
Proud winners of the EFL second biggest crowd in the northeast cup.
