Lumley is still a liability

It doesn’t matter which league we are in next season. He won’t be starting.

It’s will always be the same. Some fans just have higher standards.
That's fair enough, let the manager and coaching staff sort that out.But dont crucify the lad on here.keep it in house,in the changing rooms

Thanks for making me shake my head when I'm under doctor's orders not to do so ffs.
We put up a good display today against a world class side. To put the blame on one player shows you up. You are no better than the Chelsea fans on twitter who were trying to make out that we were donating their ticket money to Ukraine, clueless.
Lumley might not be the greatest keeper to ever play the game, but he is playing for us for the foreseeable future and if we go up he'll be part of the reason why.
On a day when we witnessed such marvellous support it is very disappointing to see such baseless scapegoating.

Lumley played really well in my opinion.
Sorry disagree for the second goal. Just didn't move at all.
Distribution was good and can't blame him for the first goal.
Heat of the moment post tbh and doesn't stop pride in the run and the overall performance against the World and Euro Champions.

First goal: should never have that much time and space to put the ball in.
Second goal: Taylor was all at sea. You could see by his reaction he knew it was him. He just walked away.

There was a group behind the goal, north stand, what looked like were having right go at him. I’m pretty sure he said something back. End of the day they were just better than us. We go on.

That second one is terrible from him, no way should that beat him

A new keeper has to be the first signing we make regardless of the league we’re in. Think a good keeper and we would have been pushing top 2 this season

But he should have saved the second, which is what this thread is about
Should he though? The ball had some serious movement, not as if he dropped a clanger. People can't wait to pounce on him and it isn't right. Howson was probably more at fault for pressing at the wrong time leaving the back line exposed with one pass but nobody wants to talk about that or what about Taylor getting turned inside out so easily? It's completely wrong to single lumley out. It was a great strike.

Yes other players should have done better but come on though, a championship standard keeper has to be saving those kind of shots. He had a clear view and can see it all the way, the ball didn’t move that much and by the time he dives it’s past him. Very poor but what else can we expect? The club brought in two keepers in the summer who have always been second choice, it was clear neither is anywhere near good enough for a long time now but we didn’t replace them in January despite money being available
