Longer games in EFL

Don't you think they should also consult paying spectators in this move.
Perhaps I am playing the devil's advocate but people have trains and transport to make. Could it potentially be a problem for some fans not knowing roughly when games will end?
Suppose you can research the games to find out how long on average the ball is in play. Games can have 10/12 mins added on now

Isn’t in okay on average between 55-60 mins

I like it the way it is. Think ninety minutes is about right for a game of football. You don't want it going on for 2 hours. Time wasting doesn't bother me much. Both teams do it. The changes they are making seem sensible. Don't want some gadge in a stand with a stop watch.

No, the tail shouldn't be wagging the dog.

It may mean that clubs need to kick off games earlier than 7.45 or 8 on an evening but they should be anyway.

Nobody cares about time wasting when we are winning and go into $hithouse mode.

Got to admit as much as I go to all home League games , watch all away ones on TV when I can, highlights etc I'm not sure I'm that ar,s-ed to endure having matches dragging on and on every week

I live nowhere near the Riverside so I wasn't including my opinion, just a general point.

Some games kick-off at 7:30, some at 7:45 and some at 8:00. I presume there are lots of people that are not happy about any of those times because of transport but the earlier ones will also have people not being happy due to finishing work on time etc. From the previous point, if I was to attend an evening game then the later the better for me because it gives me a chance of getting there after work but I'm not going to demand that because I recognise the current times suit the most people.

Forget about the time and go back to the the game in isolation. Then the discussion on what time is best for kick-off/full-time can be had. Is it better to have a game with more football or less football due to time-wasting? I know which side of that I'd be on. I want every game to have the same amount of time with the ball in play. I don't want teams to win/draw because they are better at time-wasting than others. I want to see what I've paid to watch and that is footballers playing football.
I concur entirely with your sentiments. It would be satisfying for me if refs booked players at the first suspicion of time-wasting and sent them off the pitch for the regular "ouch"[let me roll all over the pitch Im really really hurt] theatre.

Pretty perceptive from Boro - EFL announce longer games, a few days before Boro stick a £1.50 extra on the price of tickets to cover this........
Dont worry....."digital ticketing" will solve all our problems: once everyone has bought a smartphone and a charger and charging points are installed in all concourses.......... (y)

This is the fault of players and managers who endorse and actively engage in time-wasting and cheating though, surely?

I don't want 10+ mins of extra time every game... ( we have up to 10 subs per game ) thats 5 mins just for the subs 30 sec each & then any injuries / stoppages..

I like the idea of players having to wait 30 sec after they've received treatment to come back on.. though I think if ref books a player for time wasting they should have to go off the field for 5 mins ( if keeper would be central defender instead )

if its done properly, it shouldn't extend game times for long, as team should stop time wasting as it would be futile as time is just added on...

however most footballers are shthouses so it will end up with 1hr each way......

It worked brilliantly at the World Cup.

Teams do stop taking the **** when they know that they're not gaining anything from it.

Isn’t this what they did in the World Cup where we saw games with like 10 minutes added time. I really liked it.

I also like what they’re doing in the women’s World Cup now where they’re having the referee announce major decisions to the stadium.
