Lisa shaw died of blood clot after covid jab

I have been getting some worrying side effects from the AZ jab, especially the second one. It probably works on any weaknesses a person may have, connected with clotting, blood circulation etc. The side effect have weakened a bit which is a relief.

As people who have had the jab know you are asked about blood thining medications befroe you get the jab. There must be a reason for this.

Boro PE - do you have medical ailments that could be affected by blood clotting/circulation like regular cramp, damaged or varicose veins?

The written warnings with the vaccine list a lot of side effects.

No im normally pretty fit and healthy. Had my second one a week ago now. Not even an aching arm.

I wonder if those susceptible to clotting with the vaccine, would have been more susceptible anyway, it's surely more likely than not.
It would depend what kind of clots a person was susceptible to. The blood clots we're talking about here are not your normal type of blood clots. They're actually a very, very unusual type characterised by a lack of platelets, paradoxically enough.

The only previous known cause of this type of blood clot was a reaction to a medicine called Heparin.

So according to the info below from the British Heart Foundation, while anyone who's previously had problems with Heparin Induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (HITT) should avoid the AZ vaccine:

There is no evidence that people with a history of blood clots (including deep vein thrombosis, or a clot that leads to a heart attack and stroke) are at increased risk from blood clots caused by the vaccine. If you are in this group, the risk of another blood clot caused by Covid-19 is likely to be far greater than the risk of a blood clot caused by the vaccine.

she was one half of gary and lisa on Century/Real/Heart breakfast until the station decided they wanted new presenters. Gary used to do the touchline job when ali and bernie did the commentary on Century

I was asked that for the Pfizer jab, and think I've also been asked it about others.

Thanks for that (y) Set me straight anyway :)

Doesn't change my stance mind. The risk is tiny, and collectively for the good the benefits outweigh the negatives massively.

Mine is actually "1 in 20000".

You can do your own Covid risk assessment here...

it's still a fookload more likely that the chance of dying from the vaccine. Oh and long lasting issues from covid are not factored in, just dying.

Of course the impact on you is only part of the risk, you actually need look holistically at your circle of family and friends. work out the figure for your parents, children, partners and friends, find which is the most likely, that's your true risk

I did.

I was by far the highest risk, I assume due to asthma & breaking my wrist playing football ( :)??? 🤷‍♂️not my algorithm). Mrs was 1 in 100,000, Uni age children 1 in 500,000.

With a risk of blood clots from AZ at c.1 in 1.5m you can see why they are using other vaccines for the younger generation.

There is a reason but it is pretty basic ................... if you're on blood thinning meds you may bleed or suffer bruising round the injection site.
As people who have had the jab know you are asked about blood thining medications befroe you get the jab. There must be a reason for this.
Any one on blood thinners, ie me, gets asked about it when having injections, going to the dentist and if you're not asked you should be telling them.

I've had both jabs with absolutely no issues at all.

Logically, being on a "blood thinner" should reduce the risk of clotting. They are asking you because there is a risk of it being difficult to stop you bleeding if they snick a vein.

Had my 2nd AZ yesterday morning, slight fuzzy head this morning, felt like I'd had a couple of pints. Pint of water, couple of paracetamol, sorted. They do tell you to drink lots of water after the jab.

I refer again to the official CDC figures in the US (which I know are unverified)....

...I make that 17 in a million reported deaths after a vaccine.

Based on that, people should think twice before vaccinating their kids, even of uni age.

Did you have any reaction to the first one?

A very slight one, almost exactly 24 hours after the first one I felt cold and shivery, went and had a hot bath and couple of hours on the bed (didn't bother with a paracetamol) and right as rain there after. Being of a certain age most of my friends have now had both AZ jabs without any reaction. My wife (working in health care) was sent to Jimmy Cooks and had the Phizer (she felt a bit under the weather for a day after the first one but nothing from the second)

We've both had the virus (back in October before it was fashionable) and they say (apocryphal) that you have more of a reaction if you've had the virus when you get the vaccine. Dunno?

Due to the antibodies built up in your system reacting against the viral load injected?
