Linthorpe Road Cycle Path

After 5pm those areas become a different place , not somewhere people will feel at ease or even confident their car will be un touched .
Have you had a stroll down Parliament Road at night ? I doubt it .
Absolutely, no way I'm leaving my Car on some waste ground...and strolling back with my family...I'll just swerve Linthorpe Road and go to Teesside Park STOCKTON

At least a load of council managers/ councillors will have had an all expenses paid ‘ field ‘ trip to Amsterdam for a Long weekend

I’m sure a few street lights and CCTV would help that.

I’m a parliament road native originally so yes I have been down there at night.
Ok Doriva , it's changed a lot over the years , not the same animal as when I used the Sammys club or the Westminster .
I will put it differently .
Would you be happy to let your wife and kids go down there after going for a meal on Linny road ?
I wouldn't , and before you answer , have a stroll down the back streets in the area and get a feel for it , and what I mean . No Go comes to mind .
Ask the police for their opinion .
They will tell you it's rife with drugs , and drug users , and lots of problems , from some of the people who live in that area .

Would I let anyone other than an adult man in my family do down parliament road at night? No I wouldn’t. Absolutely not.

A well lit parking facility on Amber and Ruby Street, then yes.

im not sure why you’d park off parliament road if you’re going to Akbar’s mind

Yes, many, many times. I live nearby. Oops was supposed to be a reply to the post about Parly Rd after 5pm.

Your a 6ft bloke who is used to the area though rob .
Would you say it's a place that people or families who are not used to the area would feel safe ?

You’re talking about parliament road and the surroundings streets. I’m talking about 1 street back from Linthorpe road between Psyche and The Crown. Different areas and perfectly safe. If you’re wandering around Outram Street then you’re there on purpose...

Lots of families eat at the restaurants along Linthorpe Road right along from Central Park down to Akbars etc - just need better times when they are opened for business.

We will see way more of this over the next ten years, we have to change attitudes towards car usage and things like this can only help. Move shops to out of town locations and make the town centres more pedestrian friendly and not just a big car park causing pollution.
Peoples attitudes towards this needs changing though before things can ever change. Sure some people would fly to the shops if it meant saving five minutes
The whole country is outcrying the death of the town centres and you are advocating moving shops out of the town centre.😭
Except for bicycle repairs shops for all those cyclists coming enmasse down Linthorope Road.

Why do we have a need for shops to be in a town centre just because thats the way its always been? Its completely unsafe having thousands of cars piling into a town centre every day when these could be moved to better locations with better quality of roads, enough parking and away from where people live where they will be impacted by the pollution.

It just shows how bad our reliance on cars actually is, that people feel so strongly about not being able to park directly outside a shop they want to use and might have to walk a bit further.

I don't understand this comment - "just need better times when they are opened for business" - what does that mean?

Where do the families who want to eat at the restaurants on Linthorpe Rd park there cars when there's no spaces?
